    hey cappiegirl!!

i'm so glad you were able to catch the sunset - how perfect!!

yes, i did a lot of research on the sunset times and while it does show that the sun sets right now around 530, in april (which is when our wedding is) the sun sets closer to 7 pm! so hopefully if we are taking pics between 6 and 630 we will have some good lighting.

there is some good historical sunrise/sunset time on wunderground.com if anyone is looking!

      hola Meghan!

welcome to the form and congrats for your commitment.

just 1 tip try to do your ceremony before 430 pm because its getting darker at  515pm so if you want to have some photo session and portarait session you will not be able to have enough light and if you are in the caribbean  take advantage of the light, sea junge and general environment.

      have a good planning

        hi kj1606!

thanks for the info! i'm gonna try to see if we can have the same schedule...ceremony at 5:30, cocktail reception at 6pm and then dinner reception at 7pm! i would have liked to have it a little earlier and have the cocktail reception at the gazebo but my WC told  me that I would need to have the whole thing on the beach if i want the ceremony and the dinner reception on north beach!

        anyway, thanks again!

Hi! I am new to posting but I have been reading posts for a LONG time trying to get as much info as possible!

I am getting married on April 11th, 2011 at The Gran Porto Real also.  Does anyone have any examples of the photographers work?

Also,  does anyone know what the options for the menu for a private reception are?

Thank you so much for all of the help you all offer on this site!!

Hello Dear how are you you will love this place is just great and the beach is exelent is rigth on the heart of playa del carmen and very close to 5 avenue you will find here great information to plan that special day let us know if there anything that we can help for that special day. se what people said

We stayed in this resort for our son's wedding and it was truly a wonderful experience. From check in with Claudia ( who made it so easy and pleasant) to our beautiful room which was kept so nicely by Veronica to all of the restaurant and bar waiters/waitresses who looked after our every need. Astrid did an excellent job as did Freddie who took such good care of our wedding dinner. Our rooms/suites were wonderful and always kept to the cleanest standards. It was truly a memorable event and we would recommend it to anybody looking for a great place!
