Haha I will spy on your wedding to see if it all runs smoothly so I get a better idea of what mine will be like!

My planning is going well so far also. My guests are annoying me though. I've given them a few weeks to get their deposits together but I wana go and book them all now so I have a better idea of how many people are coming so I can start doing OOT bags etc. Also some guests aren't sure if they'll have the money so they're planning on waiting until a few months before we travel to see if they can get a good deal!!

I know there is a Royal thread where most Gran Porto brides are hanging out too, but I would be interested in hearing specifically from Gran Porto brides as well. How is everyone's planning coming along? We still do not have a date but it is leaning more and more towards Gran Porto in April/May.

Hi, I agree. It's long siffing though hundreds of pages about another hotel to find snippets of info on the GPR.

Im booked for the GPR for March 2011. My uncle went to a travel agents yesterday to book for the wedding and the lady in the shop used to have an office in the hotel. He said she was going on and on about how wonderful the hotel is and how much of a good choice I've made. So thats made me feel even more positive about it :) ..x

BecaJ,

I totally agree about the other thread. I hope to book April or May 2011. I just can't make up my mind....

Great to hear about the good reviews! I looked on one of the Swedish tour operators' site and they had really good reviews as well. I wanted to check what the European travelers opinion of the hotel was in comparison of the US sites.

I agree about the other thread as well - its really helpful, but so overwhelming! I feel a need to go through and try to read them all b/c its so helpful, but there is no way!! I also agree about wanting to know who is going to book and who isnt! Most of our guests are still up in the air, (i think most are just going to book online, our travel agent is not the best, and online booking is cheaper), its just hard to get a headcount as far as planning and OOT bags go. So many of our friends say they are coming, but I know not everyone is going to follow through. We are hoping to send out official invitations next month so we can start getting some definite rsvp's back!!

Meghan18, when are you getting married?

I think I will let our guests book online or through our TA (even though it is more expensive so most people won't use her). We haven't even decided on a specific date yet, only that it will be in the end of April or beginning of May. I want to send out STD's as soon as possible but at the same time I want to do all the research I can on prices and resorts before I set the date....huh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
