Sandals Brides please help me...

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I thought my search of a wedding/honeymoon resort was over until I came across the Sandals website. My choices were narrowed down to The Royal Plantation, The Caves, and Half Moon.

The Sandals website that was sent to me included the Martha Stewart wedding package, as we'd like to also get married at the resort, and I fell in love with it!

Here's the deal ladies...(not to offend anyone) I was under the impression that Sandals resorts were somewhat cheesy, the beaches would be full of people, the atmosphere would be forced rather than relaxed, and there would be tons of people hanging on the beach during our wedding.

However the website certainly does not seem that way and I totally stand corrected. Can Jamaica Sandals brides please share why you chose a Sandals resort for your wedding? Thank you so much for any help or advice that you can provide.

Kindly,

Robyn

I got married at the Beaches Turks and Caicos resort on a Friday at 4 pm. I too was very concerned about complete strangers inviting themselves to watch my wedding. I almost changed our location because I was that concerned. But we staked our area a couple days before and it wasn't that busy. The wedding coordinator was very good at directing people around us and clearing the area of extra beach chairs and boats etc.

I think it really depends on what time of the day you choose. I can't speak for the other resorts but during certian times of the day the beach was less full and offer more privacy.

I'm getting married at Sandals, Negril. I've not been to that location yet but when I get back I'll let you know how it went.

But I have been to Sandals Royal Bahamian. My best friend was married there and I can tell you I'm not one for chain companies and can see why you think or may hear that it's cheesy but her wedding was AWESOME! It was the most beautiful wedding and this was even before they offered themes. Just everything was so easy. The bride did not stress about anything and the background was beautiful. You don't need a lot of decorations or flowers because the resorts are just that beautiful.

Every person that worked at the resort treated us so great. I think you have to stay at Sandals resort to understand. I've never experienced anything even close to as great as that vacation.

I too was also married at Beaches Turks and Caicos. And I thought everything was perfect. We got married at the gazebo. And there were a few onlookers in the distance but they didnt allow anyone to be right there that was not part of your wedding. They closed off certain areas so people wouldnt be walking while I was wakling down the aisle etc. The wedding coordinator really knows how to run the show.

THe resort was sold out for our entire 10 day stay and never once did it feel packed or crowded. The beach was huge, multiple pools, there was always a lounge chair available and there was never a wait for dinner.

I think the resorts are gorgeous. And you will be really happy with your choice.

We were married at Sandals Whitehouse. There was nothing cheesy or forced about the resort. The beaches weren't crowded. There wasn't many ppl even near the section of beach we were married on. It was beyond perfect!! We do not regret one thing about chosing Sandals for our wedding!!

Ladies, thank you so much for all of your input. I'm going to have the wedding and our guests stay at the Sandal in Ocho Rios; I will speak with the WC to see if a private dinner can be had since we're having such a small wedding. Stephen and I will stay at Royal Plantation. Our other concern was the wedding photographer; we wanted to fly in the photographer that did our engagement photos, but we noticed the Sandals resorts doesn't allow this. How was your photography sessions? Were you pleased with the photographer?

Autismprincipal- I know we've been emailing- but wanted to respond here for others that may be reading this.

You have to stay at the resort that you are getting married at- so if you are getting married at sandals Grande Ocho rios, you will need to stay there and then move to Royal Plantation the next day for the honeymoon.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
