What to tell the uninvited?

Recommended Posts

I would simply tell them as you did more research, the amount of work and money that a large wedding required, you and your hubby-to-be talked about it and decided that's not really what you wanted - you wanted something more intimate and after researching it more, a DW seemed more like what you guys wanted. If you are planning on having a shin-dig for the family when you get back (say a picnic or something), you could tell them you're going to have pictures or even a slide show available so everyone can see you and your hubby walking down the aisle. Just an idea. Ultimately, I have learned that this is about you and him so you have to do what make you two happy.

I kinda skimmed responses so sorry if it's redundant, but I think your guests will more than likely whittle down the list for you. I would just invite close family and friends (the people you intend on inviting) and if it comes up with anyone else, you can either cave and invite them just to be nice or express your thoughts about having a small wedding for financial reasons. We just told everyone "it's just a small, intimate wedding for family" if it was friends and for distant relatives, we just said "immediate family to keep it small and affordable." We did say we would have a AHR to lesson the blow and intended to do so, but by the time we got home I was over wedding stuff and planning so we didn't. LOL

Good luck!

Oh and we did cave when a distant friend confronted us about not being invited... we were like "Oops... we didn't think you were interested, but you can come if you want." She did and she was a party pooper! Don't CAVE! LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
