I wanted to get mugs from 4imprint.ca but we're only having like 15 people TOPS, so there aren't quanities that big. So what I might do it make a stencil and get the paint you can put on dishes, and personalize the mugs that way and see if I can find some on sale here. but we will see about that.

What songs are you going to use?

Love the dresses and sashes, that colour will look so pretty against the ocean!
I have so many templates now that I can finally download them...I think I will be going into DIY over drive soon. I have first aid kit stickers, still looking for lip balm ones, I think I also have hand sanitizer somewhere and bookmarks.

I am in the process of making a newsletter that we are going to send to guests in the new year I think - havent really decided. Its stuff about the resort, flight company, air line policies, packing list...it is amazing!!! I got it from another bride on here but just changed it to Jamaica stuff.

I am also in the process of finding a key card/tip holder for Jamaica which we are going to attach to the mugs with a carabeaner (sp?).

Looks like my August of school will be spent doing wedding stuff but I dont mind! :)

Akua420 i have been pricing out the resort in February too and my quotes have all been around $2000 as well. I think it is pricier at peak season ( but we need to escape the cold Alberta winter somehow wink.gif ) also I think it might be because we are flying from Calgary/Edmonton instead of further east like Toronto?

AshleyL - I know! Thats why I picked Feb, its a nice break from the awful awful winter! But I have ppl going from Ontario and Regina and they are all paying roughly the same, I think Edmonton was cheaper then Ottawa too. But its worth it, and you only get married once, so that was my reasoning. And then I'll come back with a hot tan for the rest of winter!

AshleyL - We are getting married on the 22nd of Feb, we're getting to Jamaica on the 18th and don't come home home until the 4th of March, one week at Couples Ocho Rios. It was much cheaper to go earlier, but my FI has year end so he won't be able to take holidays that early, so we're going during 'spring break'. But its worth it! And still cheaper then a Canadian wedding!

Akua420 - just confirmed dates with the TA and Beverly. We fly to Jamaica February 4th and get married February 7th. Most of our guests are only staying for a week but we might stay an extra week at another resort if we can get a good price. I know that you mentioned your price for a week at Bahia was around $2000. Our price is similar and we are using Nolitours, I asked them if they would honor a price drop for our guests if they reduced prices before our departure. They said that they will honor a one time price drop for our guests that have put down deposits but only if it is more than 60 days from our departure, and only if there is room for the same number of people from our group for the re-quote. Talk to your TA, maybe they will be able to do something like that for you.

AshleyL thats a good idea, I will talk to my travel agent!  We are staying at Couples Ocho Rios after, it looks so romantic and we got a pretty good price, all together for both resorts we're paying $8000 (for both of us), of that, my TA looked at a bunch of them and found the best price there, and we can't wait to get away from the guests and have a romantic week ourselves.  How many guests do you have coming?

I'm not quite sure how many will be coming - lots of people say they will, but I'll believe it when I see the deposits put down. I think 10-15 are for sure.

That does seem like a good price. We were quoted around $6000 for both for 2 weeks at the Bahia, but I really want to just go somewhere on our own. We will see what we can afford.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
