I'm getting married in Jamaica on April 20, 2011 at 4pm. I'm thinking about going a reggae-band but I'm unsure if I want them the whole time or do both a reggae band and a DJ. Band for 2 hours DJ for 3 hours.. Would that be cool for a wedding reception?
What do you think?

I think it depends on what kind of feel you want for your reception and what you think your guests would be most receptive to. Some bands can be awesome! It might be a little much for three hours though. Maybe just during coctail hour or for right after dinner
Then transition into DJ

You and I are on the same page
I think that would be awesome! The reggae band would give the reception an authentic flair and the DJ allows you to dance to some popular music that other people will want to hear! I'm trying to decide what to do now. I want to hear the reggae band that the resort uses, but I can't get any information about them other than their name. I googled them w/no luck
