Engaged, now a DREAMS question!

Recommended Posts

Yes, I cannot stop saying it, "I'm Engaged!" (or looking down at my hand!) :)

Since we have already decided on Dreams, I emailed them last night to ask about availability for June/July 2011. For those of you who did the same (email Dreams), about how long did it take for you to hear back from them and get things rolling? I'm a teacher and want to take full advantage of getting most of the planning done this summer so I won't have as much to do when school starts back up. I'm just curious to know how well/fast the WC is with communication.

I look forward to getting to know you all and share stories/ideas over the next year!

Things definitely don't happen as fast as you would like them to, let me just warn you! They are really busy with current brides and Mexico is MUCH slower paced than here in the states. I would say expect an email response within a week. Dreams is AMAZING and the WC are all wonderful. Patience is key, but your wedding will be amazing and they will do all they can to help you realize your dream wedding. You made a GREAT choice when you chose Dreams!

I am getting married at Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana and my first request took about 4 days to hear back but now she emails me within 24 hours if not sooner when I have questions. She has been great to deal with so far.

Dreams Cabo is a great choice! I'm also getting married there next April. I am in the same boat (not a teacher, but an accountant) and would like to plan our wedding in the "off season" but they do not get back to you as fast as you would like. Just understand there there are others that are closer to getting married than you are, and need to be their priority right now. If you have any questions, feel free to ask anyone on this forum...everyone is more than happy to help.

Congrats! Your ring is beautiful!! I couldn't stop looking at mine for the first month...or so!

I'm getting married at Dreams Tulum....and I guess I've been super lucky so far as I've always heard back from my WC within a day of sending her email, including the first requesting to see what dates were available!

Good luck and happy planning!

I think it took about a week, but in the same week I contacted Tammy (Host) Wright Travel Agency, and she helped speed things along and get my date reserved.

A key component to working with your wedding coordinator once she is assigned, is to have one email stream, list your questions and let them answer before asking more.

It keeps their inbox and your inbox more organized and they are more likely to respond to you sooner, Usually about once a week until 1-2 months before you wedding then it increased to daily before you leave.

That was my experience at least.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
