This review has been so helpful, I am just getting started with my planning at Secrets Silversands. Nothing is for sure yet, but it is looking good. My question for you is that did you feel there were a lot of hidden fees after you got the wedding package?? I am afraid that the $2700 is going to keep getting higher and I am just talking the resort itself not extra photos and such. Also, did all of your guests stay at the hotel? I am curious to see how strict there are on the day passes and how much extra it is per person to have the dinner that is included in the package.

Thanks in advance!

There weren't any hidden fees for me. Everything was listed out in the itemized contract. If I made any changes to it, or asked to add or substitute anything, I made sure she told me how much it would cost, or how much the substitution was worth.
All of my guests stayed at the resort so I didn't have to deal with guest passes, but in my opinion, u shouldn't be charged any extra for it wedding package if u have outside guests, because they're already being charged the guest fee of $100.

If u are having a legal ceremony, there is about $400 in extra charges on top of the package price, so make sure u get that itemized by the resort's planner so u know exactly what u will be charged.

thank you again! I am going to have a phone conference with the WC tomorrow so I hope to get all of my thousand questions answered. There is not much on here about Secrets Silversands but if is anything like the other Secrets Resorts I think it should be nice as well. Thanks again!

Your review is AMAZING.

It looks like your wedding day was absolutely beautiful. I have a question and maybe other brides can answer this too, but how much did your wedding cost. I am just trying to see what my fiance and I are looking at budget wise. I would really love an estimate, and I have asked the wedding coordinator but she hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Thanks!

Hi,I am planing a wedding for June 2014. It will be a legal wedding! Does anyone know if having a minister as opposed to the judge is an option? So far Ive only been communicating via my travel agent. I should be booking today!!! When I first started my venue search a year ago, my grom and I said absolutely no to Mexico because of the legal requirements- blood test and all! We knew we wanted a legal wedding/ ceremony done all @ once and mexico seems to have the nices resorts. I searched all over the carribbean! But in the end, the resort seems to have most of what we want for our wedding! most importantly the Sunday date we wanted! This review was very helpful thanks! And thanks for everyone's input

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
