Need musician suggestions- can anyone help?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to find a good guitar soloist for the ceremony, a small mariachi trio for the cocktail hour, and a salsa band for the reception.

If anyone has names and website links to musicians you have found or heard about, can you share?

Music is such an important part of my wedding and I really want to make the right choice.

Thank you so much!!

I am getting married in Playa Del Carmen on Sept 5th. I checked to see if the Balance Band was available but they are already booked. I'm really interested in finding a good salsa band.

Thanks!

I don't want know if this will help you. My daughter was married at the Fairmont Mayakoba, north of Playa del Carmen. This is the contact we had for a string trio that played during the ceremony. My understanding was that there were other musicians available, but we wanted classical during the ceremony and used a DJ at the reception. The company is Big Bang Productions, and we were linked through our wedding coordinator at the Fairmont. For what it's worth, we were very pleased with the string trio.

Everything was perfect! My son in law planned the music, so I'm really not sure about how the selection went. We went with the DJ because, at home, people know the area bands. It's not the same for a destination wedding, and a bad band can kill a party faster than anything. We also decided that a mariachi could get "old" after an extended length of time. Our setting was more "eco-friendly" than "fiesta," and the trio is right for us. In another setting, the guitar soloist or mariachi may be the way to go.

One thing, a friend of the bride and groom's is a "hobby" DJ, and he did the music for the welcome party. His choices were more "techno," and I think our guests enjoyed that style best. Everyone, young and old, was dancing, and the energy level was high. The DJ probably could have done that, and hindsight is always 20/20.

    • How about installing a home web cam? And hire a house sitter to check up every week?
    • You can hire a graphic designer on Fiverr to create the wedding cards then just print them yourself. Another option so you can save money is to create the card how you want it on Canva and have them printed at a printing shop.
    • My wedding is coming soon, and I would like to know where I can find best wedding cards at affordable prices. I only find one store known as Lavenderpaperie.com where the cards are lovely and unique, But I want to know the other option name so that I can choose best wedding card. Please, if you have any suggestion on where to go, let me know. Thanks & Regards,

    • Hi Brides! I have a Wally Bag - 66" available - $90 + shipping (US only) The wally bag typically sells for $120-$180. I used this gown bag once to transport my dress from MN to Mexico for our wedding - IT WAS PERFECT!   I was actually able to pack 4 additional maxi dresses, and my husband's wedding attire, plus a few pairs of shoes and some jewelry. I packed the dress the night before we left, and just moments before we left, I zipped the bag and folded it - ready for travel. It comes up with a nice over-the-shoulder strap, making it really easy to carry through the airports. No issues on Delta with the bag as my carry-on - I chose to put in the overhead bin, but the flight attendant did offer to hang it in the closet for me. Once we got to the resort, about 10 hours after I first folded the bag, I unpacked the bag and my dress was perfect - no wrinkles! My dress was mostly lace and had a bit of a train, but it arrived perfectly!  Honestly, this is the best way to travel with your dress!
