Getting married june 2010 what all should we bring to Riviera maya!

Recommended Posts

Good morning,

I am a June 2010 Bride. We are getting married at EL Cid in Riviera Maya. This will be my first trip out of the US too! We are bringing my four and seven year old sons along with us. My mom and step Dad and my soon to be father-in-law and his brother are coming too! So a pretty small guest list hahaha. We have all the clothes/wedding attire etc... But what extras do you suggest we pack and bring along? I have no idea as i've never been to mexico! Also, how do we get our wedding dresses on the plane. We are flying american airlines. Thanks for any help. I'm so excited!

Congratulations!

I would say sunblock and bug spray would be the two most important things to bring, especially when traveling with little ones. The mosquitos in mexico can be very annoying. And bring enough sunblock with you or it would cost you a pretty penny to buy it at the hotel if you run out.

p.s. bring a pain-reliever for the adults (in case of a hangover, lol!). Cheers!

Good luck and HAVE FUN!

Pack plenty of sunblock with a high SPF (50 or greater). My FI and I went through a tube every 3 days. Mosquito repellant is necessary too. We bought the kind used by our photographer and it worked better than the brands in the States.

Light colored clothing (linen or linen-similar)

Shorts

Tank tops (no long sleeves)

Pants (if you hate worrying about mosquitos at night, but no jeans as its too hot)

Comfortable tennis shoes

Flip flops

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
