Covering Tatoos

To my tattooed fellow brides :)

BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU HAVE!! Your future hubbys fell in love with you just the way you are! The tattoos are a part of YOU so why would you cover them up?

Who cares what other people think, its YOUR day and the only other person's approval you need will be waiting for you at the end of the aisle regardless wink.gif

So obviously I am not covering mine LOL

Dermablend works well to cover lots of things, but is definitely not transfer or sweat proof. The key to these products is several thin layers. Trying to glob a bunch on too fast is the wrong approach. So, you have to apply a SMALL amount and blend blend blend blend and repeat that process until it's covered. Also, make sure you shave the area to be covered as makeup will go on better with no hair (even if it's not a place you think is hairy, shave anyway. Peach fuzz will make the finish less smooth). Another thing is that having someone else do it for you is helpful, so take your MOH or a BM or mom with you to the makeup counter and have the lady there help both of you learn how to apply so someone can help you.

Like I said in my earlier post, most of these things don't work that great. Sure, with enough layers, they will cover a tattoo, but it's never going to blend completely with your skin tone and look natural. Most of the time your skin is still left looking like it's been "patched". I still say airbrushing is the best option.

I've used dermablend but not for my tattoo but for a scar on my inner thigh. The new foundation which was just launched a few months ago is actually waterproof which is why I got it. I was going to be wearing a swimsuit and needed it covered. It is a tedious process though cause you do have to cover let dry, cover again, let dry repeat that about 3 or 4 times and then you use the setting powder. I think the key is the setting powder though cause I have used it without the setting powder and it just doesn't stay. And you have to let the cream properly dry before putting on the setting powder you can't rush it. I do have a friend that models and uses the KatVon D stuff and she likes that.

This is exactly how I feel!!! I love my tatts!! and I recently got 2 more..and one of them I got so when I do wear a bikini it will show..lol

To me having my tatts show won't make me look trashy it's just added accessories. It's me...it's apart of who I am. So if anything i'll be showing them off.

My FI really hates his too. Glad I never got any. Sometimes they can spoil a certain look that you are going for.

I have script along the outer edge of my foot. It looks feminine so I like that it will be on show in my wedding dress. I do understand those that have large tattoo's say on your arms or something because that can spoil the look your going for in a wedding dress. I was booked in for a tattoo on the under side of my forearm but cancelled last minute cos I didn't think I'd like the way I looked in a wedding dress with it.x

I'm not covering mine. If they show, who cares. They are part of me and everyone knows I have them. I have a double heart above my left breast that I just got reinked so it will look good for my wedding in pictures. I also have a symbol for female empowerment on my upper back and a dog paw on my inner ankle. I say show them off.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
