We were late to the ceremony and lost our judge, so keep in mind they don't think anyone will be late down there, not like the states where the bride is never on time. =)
That threw us off alittle, we started the reception at 7:15 ish.
Thanks. That's the timeline we were thinking of too, but the WC said there wouldn't be enough sunlight left at 6:00 for photos.

We are not yet sure if we're going to do the legal here first or do both in Mexico. So was it first the legal, immediately followed by the Catholic (both performed in the chapel)?

The legal part was done first and the judge usually doesn't stick around for the readings or sand ceremony type stuff. They are on a tight schedule. There are 2 in the area and they get booked. The WC should step in and call up people who are reading, but ours didn't so my husband announced our first reader and the next two followed suit after that.

I would recommend going early because it's January, the sun sets ealier than May. I looked your day up for Cancun, MX, (that's the closest we normally get)

Sunrise: 6:27am
Sunset: 5:31pm
Moonrise: 8:44pm
Moonset: 8:24am

Yeah Shannon!! Thank you sooo much for you review! Very helpful! I'm bummed to hear you didn't like the Mexican Restaurant =( That is where we are having our rehearsal dinner. Oh well, I probably won't even be able to eat that night anyway I'll be too excited!!

I'm sooo glad to hear how great the DJ was. We are having him also and I am pumped. Did he do the cold fireworks for you? Karla never got back to me about whether or not that was allowed.

Anyway, so happy you had a great time!! Leah =)

Makes me want to go back! I agree with your review. The wedding coordinators are busy with the wedding of the day so they don't focus on you until your wedding day. Also, the salon is slow so make sure you have enough time if you use them. My golf cart was late picking me up so everyone had to wait at the beach in the sun but I guess it's because they are on Mexican time! We stayed at Lindo (due to swine flu, they had closed del Mar) but got married at del Mar and had our reception in the same place as you did. Congrats!!!

Wow congrats Shannon. I loved your first part where 70 people had the time of their lives. Its so scary having this many people rely on your choice to have fun and spend their money and vacation days! No wonder you feel the luckiest girl in the world.

I am using Claudia for my wedding May 29th and I am so excited after your post about her! I really want a photographer to tell us how to stand and what to do - I have no idea what looks good!

Anyways, thanks for posting such a great review :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
