El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have their welcome letter or guest itinerary that they wouldn't mind sending me?  I have started mine but want to make sure I am not forgetting anything.  It would be MUCH appreciated!

Also, have most of you made your own programs?  I have started making mine but am trying to figure out if these should be put in a basket at the ceremony for guests to grab themselves or have an usher or someone hand them out.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm going with Sarani for our wedding in January.  I have heard AMAZING things about her and have seen other bride's photos from her and they have turned out great.  Even the wedding coordinator said everyone raves about Sarani and we will not be disappointed.  Unfortunately, she is the most expensive.  I think she is costing us $3900.  :(

Thanks @@ebigge! Did you book through Sarani directly? Or through your Lomas WC? Thanks!

@@mkg51615 I booked with my Lomas WC.  For the package I chose there was a $500 deposit required.  I'm actually having Sarani as my photographer and another assistant will be with her.  She has a few other people that work for her and will do cheaper packages if you don't choose to have Sarani there.  I heard they are pretty good as well but I wanted her there so I chose the more expensive package.  She usually takes a day or two to confirm with your WC.

Here is her website if you want to check her out! :)

Go with Sarani.  Of all the things I spent money on I would trade them all to have double my photos with her.  My husband and I are even debating whether when we go back for our 2nd anniversary this spring to have her do a second shoot.  We loved them so much.  Mine were awesome.  I still look at them everyday, even a year and a half later.  She is so friendly and kind.  Her photos are amazing.  They look like some amazing photo spread in a bridal magazine.  Bright and vivid colors.   Everyone who has seen them has been blown away.  She knows EDR back to front and knows all the perfect places to get just the right shot.  Check out my profile and the photos I posted.  At one point I did a review with loads of pictures.

Hi ladies,

I am getting married at EDR on May 16, 2015. Does anyone have a photographer that they could recommend? I am not sure which preferred vendor to use. Thanks!

Thanks @@NickiLynn1116@jnitschke ! I really appreciate the feedback. I am waiting to confirm her availability. I am hoping she is available that day but if not, hopefully her associate photographers do a good job.

I booked her associates and reviewed their portfolios ahead of time and was very pleased with their work so don't worry about it too much.

@@NickiLynn1116 - We have the same wedding date! Our coordinator is Claudia (I saw you mention yours hasn't been great) and she's been fantastic. Gets back to us within a day or two every time. Not sure if it's possible to switch, but I've been very happy. We're doing a beach ceremony (casita side in front of D'Italia) and a reception on the Generations pier. So excited and how fun to find someone with the same date!

@@mkg51615 - We are getting married on pier at the generations  Nov 22, 2014. Coming up pretty soon! We are actually bringing flying in our own photographer and because we are able to use our free nights with our TA, we are actually able to get them for cheaper or the same price of a resort photographer but for 4 days!! Instead of the normal 2-4hrs on on the wedding day.  If maybe you have talk to the person that does your engagement photos maybe you can work out a deal with them. Even without our free nights, flying them in and paying for their stay is comparable in price to a resort photo package.

Plus you also avoid the outside vendor fee if they (the photographer) stay for 3 nights. Just another option to consider!

Its pretty exciting, we have 10+ ppl plus our photographer on the same flight down so we are renting a party bus so we can all ride to airport together and kind of do pre and post pics of the whole wedding weekend!!

@@SoontobeMrsP2014 I heard many wonderful things about her associates.  You will not be let down.  I can't believer we have the same date!!  Too funny.  What time do you get married?  We are getting married at 4pm at Gazebo 55 and then our reception is at Tucanes Bar.  And I wish I could switch I heard great things about Claudia.  It took a month (LITERALLY) for my WC to confirm my hair and makeup appointments.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
