We haven't made it back there to try anything else,

We did it as a welcome dinner, not a rehearsal. We didn't have a rehearsal at all, though I wish I had run one quickly. I don't think your minister would be there, just your bridal party.

Thanks Allie!!

Doubtless- I used Sarani, we love our wedding pictures she is absolutely amazing and wonderful to work with. Worth every penny, I am so pleased with everything.

Did you actually get Sarani? I booked with them and she sent me a message saying James Torres would be my photographer and I'm disapointed because I booked her because I liked HER work...his is good but not anywhere near what drew me to hers. I don't know what to do now.

For those of you who went and got your marriage certificate at a JOP here in the states, did you have to have your married name on your passport for when you flew down to Mexico?  I was just thinking about having to renew mine and I realized that might need to be adjusted once I'm married, especially since I'm going to be changing my name when I return.

If you haven't legally changed your last name yet, then ur passport should still have ur maiden name. I didn't change my last name for 5 months after our JOP "ceremony" because I didn't want to mess with gettin my new passport with a legal name change processed before the wedding. If you are waiting to get your name changed until after ur Mexico wedding, you can't hangs your passport name or any offi ISP document until you legally change your name.

For anyone that has been to both EDR and El Dorado Seaside Suites... We r debating on whether we want to go back to EDR for our 1 year anniversary stay or go to Seaside suites. I had gone to EDR prior to our wedding , so it would be my 3rd time visiting. I also think that is prefer a smaller resort since its just the 2 of us. Our TA said its the same quality but the feeling is a little different. I'm worried that we won't enjoy seaside suites as much but I want to try something new! HELP!!

Obviously I've never been to either, but our travel agency deals with ED all the time and has great relationships with them. She said Seaside was amazing, but has a bit more of a "couple" and romantic feel to it. So maybe that's a god thing!

Shannon- Yes, I actually had Sarani and her assistant as well. More so Sarani though, but all of our pictures were amazing. I don't think she would just give you anyone. I feel you well be in great hands, I have seen both of their work on her site through her blogs. :)
I sent Sarani a message telling her I was disappointed & she responded quickly saying that she had a prior commitment when I would need her & that James was her best photographer. She said that she could meet me at the resort on another day & do a mini trash the dress or couples session free of charge. I'm extremely happy with that compromise, I love her photos & I'm glad I will get the opportunity to work with her. No doubt James will be good, it's just that her pics were more of my style. I would love to see your pics, are they on here?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
