El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

@@KimberlyD No. If you look through her Facebook page, she has a photo album of brides she's worked with and a number of them were from Azul Fives - another Karisma resort. And honestly, I'd think the resort shouldn't care - what's the difference between you bringing decor from your hometown vs. picking some up in town.

@@jhercule I checked out her site and she has so much more to offer than the hotel!! I am super excited :)

Since I am now much more excited for decorations now than I was before since i have a good selection to choose from I have been looking at pictures on pinterest and online. Does anyone know if you can use long tables instead of the round ones? I have seen pictures with wooden tables then a fabric runner was used instead of a table cloth and I love that look, but I don't know if that is even something the hotel will offer.

@@KimberlyD they do have rectangular tables. They have rustic looking ones for a fee (I'd have to search through my email for a pic) or they have ones that you'd have to cover with a tablecloth for no additional charge. We're going to rectangular table - no charge route. I'll try to post the details that my coordinator sent me about the tables tomorrow.

@@KimberlyD i found the pictures! Ana Maria (my coordinator) quoted me $150/table for the rustic wood ones that don't need a tablecloth. The no additional cost ones are probably just regular folding tables, so they'll need a table cloth. Here are the photos she sent when explaining the options....

I am trying to decide which DJ to book. DJ All Music or Mega DJ. Who did you use? Which do you recommend?

Hi @@Starum2288, We used Mega DJ and got just the DJ, no MC. Overall they were pretty good, you pick out all of the songs though, so you can't complain about the song selection! They did a good job at timing and feeling the "mood" of the reception and were flexible if we wanted to request a certain song anytime :) They didn't have one song my husband decided he really wanted to hear that night so they hooked up my phone and we played it off of that!

If you don't splurge for the MC (which was ridiculously expensive in my opinion), I would suggest asking a friend or family member ahead of time to introduce you, the dances, and any speeches. We didn't think about this before hand but luckily had an uncle who was perfect to be thrown into the job on the spot!

Also, as it states on the website, they brought a bunch of balloons and glow sticks which were really fun!

@starum228 we just used the mega DJ as well. We picked all the music ahead of time and he also took requests from our guests. Everyone thought he was great! Glad we didn't spend additional money on a MC

Thank you @@Nichole0878! Do you have to pick out all the songs ahead of time or just tell them must play songs and they will fill in with other songs throughout the night?

@@Starum2288, We picked all of our songs, but I think they would fill in with others if you wanted to. Picking all of them was a little daunting, but ended up being pretty fun because all the songs we heard throughout the night were ones we love :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
