The wedding coordinators have been great. Our group dinner at cocotal was fabulous last night!

The food was amazing, the kept the wine flowing, and brought tequila shots for the crazies.

Hairstyle rehearsal with mirabel was great too. She did exactly what I wanted, and then fixed it before I went to dinner in a different style.

IMO, it's absolutely worth it for the casitas. The villa rooms I've seen are much smaller.

I can't tell you how much we love the resort. It is perfect.

FYI, there were 5 weddings yesterday. If you have any flexibility, I'd suggest not picking a Saturday. There is only 1 today, 1 Friday and 1 tomorrow (mine!)

If I can answer any questions, please let me know. Thankfully we have another week here!

Oh Allie, I'm so glad you love the resort!! We did too and I cannot wait to go back and get married. Luckily for us we are getting married on a Sunday. Still planning on it being small, I think we will have 14 or 16 guests mostly just family.

Enjoy your day and have a fabulous time!! Eat some guacamole for me :)

Hey Shannon!

I am getting married in April and was lucky enough to get to visit the resort in September. Gazebo 55 is much more secluded and at the far end of the resort, but I honestly don't think you can pick a gazebo that is not incredibly beautiful!!!

We are having less than 20 guests, so after visiting all of the wedding sites we decided to go with the Casitas Gazebo which is just like the Beach Chapel Terrace Gazebo, but is right on the water. Even having a small wedding we are going with the private reception because we want to have the donkey! :)

Just know that you may change your mind 100 times and that's ok, have fun with it!!!

If you have a chance, could you go by the beach chapel terrace gazebo and let me know what you think of the location? And pro's and cons of having the ceremony there verses Gazebo 55. I have only seen a few photos of each and I'd really like to have something else to base my decision on. I will be forever in your debt if you can do this for me. Thanks :) :) :)

Shannon,

Check out this link...you can get a 360 degree tour of the wedding locations.  I found it very helpful.  http://www.travimp.com/hotel.php?msg=cunelc  Just click on take a virtual tour and click on the HD360 tab.  Once the picture comes up, click on the picture and it will come up full screen.  Click on the picture in full screen and on the top left hand corner you will see a drop down menu of different locations, you can see Gazebo 55 as well as restuarants/bars etc..  You can even click on the picture to stop it from rotating and move around as you wish.

I booked Gazebo 55 based on seeing the locations on this site and other pictures.  I get married on April 28, 2013, so this site has been very helpful. I won't visit EDR until days before the wedding.

Good luck!

Melanie

Thanks Melanie, I will definitely check out this website!!

It is such a hard decision and I am running out of time, I get married January 5th 2013 and I have to finalize my plans soon. We chose the private reception with a cocktail hour before and added the DONKEY!! I'm so excited!! I love the white gazebo's but I also like the seclusion of Gazebo 55. I emailed and ask Valeria if it was too late to change it...I guess if it is I'll know my original choice was meant to be.

My dress is kind of elegant/glam/old Hollywood and I thought purple was a regal color to go with it. I look really terrible in warm colors, so we were definitely going to go with a green, blue, or purple. Any input would be appreciated! Please be honest...we haven't picked anything yet so I'd rather know now than after we start buying stuff! Like the below are some examples I liked:

Hi EDR brides, Just a note from having been on site last week with the GIVC Travel Agent awards group... if anyone has any concerns about the look or set up of your events.. please know that your table settings and party set ups will be absolutely beautiful! I am convinced that the catering/ decor folks on site belong in Hollywood.. the table settings for special events are just that gorgeous. Your events will be totally beautiful, and the property is just made for wonderful photo ops with landscaping that is lush and tropical.

Great choice in selecting the EDR or Casitas, you are going to be just thrilled!

If I can answer any questions for future brides or be of any assistance I would love to help!

Best regards,

TA Wendy

PS- Allie, I hope your wedding went off perfectly and that you were not stumbling over us TAs too much! Kinda looked for your group, but did not see you... I think the resort is just that spread out that there is plenty of room for everyone!

Chiquita, yes, just bring the set up with you and a list of what you have and how/ what to do with it. Wendy I looked for you too! We stayed close to our casita the first few days. I will add a more detailed review later, but the wedding was perfect! Martha was fantastic and on her A game. Dj all music was a blast, and we danced the entire time. Food was delicious. Set up was beautiful and just what I wanted. I will have to wait to share pics until we get home, as its hard to do on the iPad. If I had one piece of advice, it's to not worry or stress. They are pros here, and I'm so happy with how it all turned out!

Glad your day was perfect AllieH. Can't wait to see your pics when you get home. In the meantime, enjoy your time in Paradise as a newly-wed!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
