No I can not believe how soon it is coming up... What are we suppose to send down to them before we get there?? The package we want and everything we want to add to it?? see how organized i am ;)

It is really frustrating that you can't get a response next day - I'm learning to roll with it. I usually send about fifteen e-mails all at once with different topics and then wait as the responses come slowly back in =)

I would definitely start with letting her know what package you want and the location and time of your ceremony so she can reserve that for you. If you want a private reception, pick a venue for that. As it gets closer, I'm making all of the "smaller" decisions, ie decorations for the chapel and our private reception (we're having it at Tucanes Bar Area), music set up, etc.

Which package did you guys pick? Are you doing the free dinner afterwards? We are actually using the free dinner the night before as a welcome dinner =)

We are just staying at the same place for the duration - but we did get the Casita Suite for myself and my soon to be hubby, so I'm glad you said they're amazing! Can't WAIT!

Hey girls!  I'm an Azul Sensatori bride, and since we're both using Lomas, I have a question...  Do any of you have Gladys R. as your WC?  Nobody on the Azul thread seems to have her, and I'm just searching around to see if I can get any tips or words of wisdom from someone else using her.

I know there was lots to say about Tiffany, and I want to make sure I don't run into a similar situation too late.

Thanks!

Jaime

I'm using Lomas, but my WC is Carolina Miranda - I haven't had any contact with Gladys - sorry I can't be of help! I'm crossing my fingers that everything goes smoothly with Carolina...she's inconsistent with responding (and responding thoroughly). I'll keep my fingers crossed for you also =) When is your wedding?

I'm using Lomas as well and my WC is Priscila.  She was not very good at responding back to my emails, so I started doing the Live Chat that's offered through the lomas website and chatted directly with her and that made a huge difference.  Plus, you have a written copy of your conversation which is always a bonus to make sure you are getting exactly what you have been promised!  Maybe that might be the best way to contact Gladys?  Hope that was a bit of help!

ooooh I never even thought about using the online chat.  Great idea!  My fingers are crossed that she responds to that!  My wedding isnt until May, so I don't mind the long response time now...but someday soon it will start driving me nuts!

I haven't heard anything about Priscila, but a lot of Azul girls seem to have Carolina...and they all seem to really like her!

I have Priscila as my WC too and she had been very speedy at replying and is really nice, but lately she hasn't been replying at all.  I wonder if she is on vacation or really busy?  My wedding is 3 months away and I need to have my final optional amenities in soon so it's kind of worrying me that she stopped responding!

So after debating back and forth between Ipod docking station and a DJ - I've decided to hire a DJ for the reception as I was worried about who would do all the announcements and get people dancing.  The EDR wedding options include a DJ but its $1,500!  That is absolutely outrageous!!  I asked for more information on this DJ to help justify such an astronomical fee and was told the information on the website was it (which is pathetic).   I am now looking outside of the hotel at several DJ's and found DJ Doremixx for a reasonable price.  Has anyone used them at EDR and if so, thoughts?

I think EDR charges such an outrageous fee because they want you to go elsewhere and then they get the $500 vendor fee for doing absolutely nothing.  Even paying this fee - my DJ services will still be less than the hotel DJ fees.  That does not make any sense to me.

Any thoughts on DJ Doremixx or has anyone used the DJ services at the hotel itself?

Thanks!

I know the prices are crazy! We did get the DJ down a little bit and extended the Mariachi band for 15 minutes!! Woo freaking HOO!!  Also, destinationweddings.com have been a serious pain in my ass lately.  Our agent totally turned against us and denied things that were promised to us.  Of course this was not via email... so we have no proof.  Ladies: make sure everything is in writing!!!

Also, since Mexicana canceled all flights that has been another huge ordeal!! AHHHH only two more months hopefully this acne clears up from all the stress lol

And speaking of destinationweddings.com ... one of my guests called my TA yesterday and was told that there were "no rooms left at EDR" for the entire week of my wedding. She suggested my guest call the resort herself - which she did and had no problem booking a room. Are you serious?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
