I didn't even think about negotiating things for the wedding. Flowers, runner, etc. Has that worked? Do you talk to Lomas Travel (I am also dealing with Valeria), or the coordinator when I get to the resort. We weren't going to do a private reception there b/c we are having a party when we get back as well. I guess I am looking for advice, ideas, experiences, etc. This website is great and I really should look at it more!

The extras definitely add up quickly! We are doing the basic chairs and having to add additional ones for the ceremony. The chairs look nice either way, so I felt good just keeping them plain.
We are doing the private reception and we are still discussing decorations. Not sure, if I will just do the votives or bring some of my own stuff.

For those of you who had the Mexican Donkey Cocktail Party by Tucanes, how many appetizers did you pick from the menu? Carolina is telling me I picked way too many and is hinting that I don't need to do my free dinner at El Cocotal the same night. I just can't see how that is possible. Anyone who has had the cocktail party and then went to dinner at El Cocotal....could you please help me make sense of this! Thank you!

She is charging us $150 set up fee because we are bringing our own decorations and centrepieces for the private reception that we are doing. It is still cheaper than renting stuff from them. We are bringing our own flowers (real touch) for our bouquets! If you guys have any questions, I might be able to answer some of them as I have been working with Valeria for quite a while now!! AllisonMPLS - I will see you there! We are leaving on the 12th!

I am having difficulty with the day of the wedding schedule. If anyone could share what their times are that would help so much! I know things take longer with a large group. This is what I have so far...but I have a hard time thinking dinner will take 1.5 hours and my ceremony will only be 30mins since I am doing a sand ceremony and throwing seashells as wishes after the ceremony is done.
mexican cocktail party -6:00-7:30
dinner at el cocotal (no dessert)-7:30-9
please help Thanks! Lauren
