Wedding Cakes,Cakes by Sam - I picked "R1" -last row, on the left...

I know it's too big for our wedding number of 30 guests--- but I wanted a "real" wedding cake for pictures, etc- and I like the simplicity of it for a beach wedding. She is charging me $350 for it.... Just an idea! :)

Shea- ours is also going to be strawberry cake with vanilla frosting :)
Oohh....I didn't know they could duplicate cakes that we like - but, of course, they will do it at a premium cost. However, it might be worth it - It's great to know that it's an option - thanks so much. I really love the cake you chose!

We were supposed to have pink roses on top but they changed their rules so no fresh flowers are available on cakes b/c they can't guarantee they won't have pesticides. so we asked for bright pink sugar flowers, clearly that is not what we got. You may Based on the photos I had seen, I wasn't expecting it to be a couture cake. So I wasn't really disappointed. They did use the ribbon I brought down but the layers were kind of short so a thinner ribbon might have been better. Anyways!

Skip the sugar flowers and know that even if it doesn't look great it will taste great.

Note, the huge flowers behind the cake was one of our two flower displays at the gazebo. THe other was placed on our advice card table.

The picture of the cake isn't showing up. :-( Was this the standard cake that the resort offered for 20-30 people or did you request a custom cake?

Hi fellow EDR brides. I am at that planning moment where I need to choose all the "little" things. The cake I have been struggling with. We too only need a cake for 20-30 people, but I really want a two-tier, square cake. I am glad to hear that they can possibly duplicate a cake. Question: Do you have to pay to rent the music equipment for iPod twice, or is it just a one time fee? Thanks!

Hi Maggiemaylou

I asked this question regarding music and Valeria told me that the music equipment for the ceremony is free however you do have to rent the ipod equipment for your private reception $250 usd and if you then want the equipment again on another day, yes you have to rent it again, unfortunately!!

Hope that helps!

xx

We did not use the resort photog. Vincent, the associate of Del Sol Photography (Sol Tomargo and Matt Adcock) along with his assistant Diego shot our wedding. They were AMAZING but it was definitely an investment.

We did see a few couples having their photos done with the resort photographer. I'm sure they are fine. They were doing mostly standard poses around the resort. We just preferred something more artistic so we made it a priority in our budget.

Thanks Bre

I'm a little nervous about having the resort photographer. I do want some great photos and afraid I'm not going to get them with them. I just got to see how much I can afford especially with the fee to pay someone to come in outside. I'm just interested to see if someone had the one on site & if they were happy with them or if it is worth it to get some outside.

I vote its worth it to hire someone else for photos

For me - many family members cant come to the wedding

so having good photos to share with them is important to me.

I have this:

Building your Wedding - Weddings in Cancun & Riviera Maya

Which is where you can choose different cakes, flowers etc. for planning.

Im sure you all have it

But I wanted to include it for EDR brides planning their weddings.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
