That just proves it is not a "Vendor" issue or something to do with paying the proper taxes. They just know where they can hit brides for extra money and they can't do much about it.

Not change the quotes as we are doing all our arrangements at the end. I'm paying the $500 and that is it. I would fight it. My TA also got the owner involved and is suppose to talk with the owner of Karisma resorts and the EDR about these ridiculous fees to bring in an outside photographer. What is boils down to is they want us to use their photographer that isn't very good. The owner of TA is well known to the resort and they sent over 1 million dollars in business there. They were also named one of the top TA with Karisma resorts. So hopefully we should get somewhere with this. The owner of Berman travel does not agree with this & says they need to know this when booking other brides wedding destinations there. It is a big factor when planning and expense.

I also received email from Cancun Studios who is doing my phots and told me we can report this to Mexican govt. kinda like our BBB that they are doing unfair charges which limits outside vendors. Anyone interested in the info let me know and I can forward you the email. It may help with some of you that are paying more than the $500 also future brides we can help out.
So you just received an email that said 2 nights plus $500?? Why the change in number of nights required all of a sudden? Did you receive it from Valeria or Monica, and can you please post it?

as I understand it the taxes issue and the $500 fee are 2 separate issues.
The taxes issue relates to making sure the outside vendors have appropriate approval to be doing work in Mexico. I was told I had to provide this documentation, regardless of the fact that I didn't have to pay the $500 (based on an earlier agmt I had with the resort). What the resort has been doing however is melding these 2 issues together when they bring it to the attn of the brides - not cool!

How is everyone transporting their wedding favors, OOT bags, and other decorations you are bringing from home. I'm hoping to have an empty suitcase to fill up and then cushion really well so that hopefully nothing breaks. Also, do most airlines let you bring your wedding dress on the plane with you?

I am bringing those candles. They have floating candle boat type things that you can pay for and put votives on them.

I am bringing my centerpieces and packing them in a suitcase. I will have a wedding suitcase filled with all the OOT and favors and stuff.

I think you can bring your wedding dress on the plane but you probably have to lay it across some suitcases in the top compartment.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
