El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I am using Sarani I have booked for 5.5 hours do you have a big wedding party?  I have 7 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen and she said that 3-4 hour packages are for small weddings with almost no guests and only dinner party unless we didn't really want a lot of pictures with the group and just wanted to focus on bride and groom and and the parents.  We wanted lots of pictures with everyone so we went with the longer package and we are also getting video.

She's the only person in my bridal party, and she is so hard to shop for because if she wants something she just buys it! So I thought doing something there might be a nice surprise instead of a gift.

So funny, I was just debating that for my inlaws as a gift.  They're going to be celebrating their 35th anniversary down there too. So they're staying an extra week.  Maybe dinner and couples massages?  Any other good ideas for gifts to give people down there?

I'm pretty sure my MOH is getting a clutch from me.

The best part is that you can personalize it by putting in a silk photo lining for an extra $25.  So that's what I'm going to do.  I think she'll love it, since she's the kind of girl who could have 1000 purses... but always seems to need 1 more.   One of the fabric choices is a black brocade with teal peacock feathers and is just perfect for my theme.  I love giving things that people will use again, and think of you every time they do.  I think the shiny black silk makes it a really nice dressy clutch, that can be used for all kinds of occasions.

We had the dinner on the beach b/c it was free with our package. It was a nice setting but by far the worst food of our trip. Lobster cappuccino was our appetizer! Tasted just like it sounds!!!  And the food was cold b/c the restaurant it had to come from was far away. We enjoyed ourselves and it was an experience, but I wouldn't have paid for it. Also we were given another free diner for 2 on beach and a free sky massage for 2 with our wedding package once we got to the resort, so don't pre buy anything...you may get freebies to give away. We gave ours to our parents!

yeah - Nikki is right - the spa people come by the pools several times a day with specials. not pushy..but always offering! if you'll be there a day or two before the rest of your guests, you may want to try to book it that way.

ok, the links I promised:

Lomas: http://www.lomas-travel.com/tours/

Olympus Tours: http://www.olympus-tours.com

I can't figure out the 3rd company I mentioned - we didn't book with them, so I stopped following them on FB.

We went through Lomas for the ease/streamlined process & payment. Some of our friends used Olympus Tours (but this was the annoying guy IMO), and they didn't have any issues with them. Another one I looked into was Riveria Maya Eco Tours. I'm running out of the office to a client meeting right now, but I'll look up the links for you when I get back.

You can use Trip Advisor to research the other companies/tours too - definitely do the legwork.

Thanks everyone! I think that we'll for sure get them a massage or excursion, but it sounds like the best thing to do is wait until we're there. That will be hard for me, since I just want to cross it off my list (!), but it sounds like the best choice.

Also, you may want to find out how they feel about getting a massage before you book it.  A lot of people feel sort of strange about massages, but if they've gotten one before, then chances are they'd like one again.  : )

Yeah, I know they love them. When he proposed he took her to Lake Geneva and had a couple's massage in their room beforehand :)

No, I actually only have a MOH and he has a best man.

We are only having 16 guests, very small!! But we are still doing the private dinner at the health bar with a sit down dinner and a visit from the donkey :)

They do have some longer packages available from Caribe, I just don't know if we need more than 3 hours. 3 hours = 350 unedited pics......that's also a concern. If I go with a larger package I get some retouched photos......I just don't know which way to go undecided.gif but I appreciate the input!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
