El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

The TA is out of town unfortunitly. I am putting my mind at ease because it is jsut not possible for me to find $6K right now. The wedding is in June so I was expecting more time. I feel comfortable with your deposit (they can keep it and apply it to the f&b and extra services later)

Also - did they give you a decent rate on the casita? I got the free ceremony but now we got the bill for the 7 nights at the casita for $5,000. I wish she could cut me a better deal seeing as I am bringing those 84 room nights in June!

Sorry if I am being a nervous nelly - I thought the process would be different. I am a wedding planner at a hotel in Chicago and our process for room blocks is very different.

I am so overwhelmed with the costs - I jsut paid a photographer, invitations and dress and don't have an extra $6K! HELP!
We had everyone book their rooms (and air if desired) through a travel agent. We didn't put down any money to hold rooms, simply paid our own deposit for our portion of the stay and wedding.

It is a huge resort, and while there's no way to guarantee that it won't sell out, you should be safe. If you have responsible guests who are going to commit to coming and book soon, I wouldn't give them any money except for your own deposit.

Whatever you do, don't let it ruin your weekend. You can figure it all out on Monday!

We did the same thing, only my mom ended up helping everyone book their rooms. It's not that big of a deal if people end up in different buildings. We even had people book different levels of rooms, so my guests were all over the place!

The process continues... My TA is working with Valeria about the rates for the Casita and the prepayment of $6K. If all else fails we will loose the deposit and go elsewhere. We figured out it was $30K in rooms revenue, $2,500 in the wedding private party and then the extras worth $1K for hair, flowers, vendor fee etc. I am in the business and with all the brides I deal with and negotiate with, I expect to be given some wiggle room. I'm not asking the world but I dont have $6K to prepay either!

I'll keep you all updated! sad.gif

Congrats BagLover21! I am getting pretty excited too. We have an update on the cost situation and Valeria was able to work some magic and get us a lower deposit and a fair price on the casita. We are thrilled to have some wiggle room and can take a deep breath. I asked for the contract ASAP for the rooms so our guests can book away!

Thanks for your support :)

I picked a bouquet that I kinda liked, and then asked Valeria to add certain flowers. Of course, I haven't seen them yet, but it was no trouble to add or take away certain flowers from the bouquets.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
