El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I did not get married in the chapel but I don't think they would have a problem with it. The onsite team is really good and did not give me any problems with anything i wanted. I know there was a small price jump from 2007-2008 when I booked but i did not put any money down until 2008 so that is the price I was charged. However, they changed the menu half way thru and I requested they honor some things on the old menu and they did.

I rented the chairs and had them decorated. We wanted plain chairs for the beach and decorated for dinner but they decorated them both. I got turquoise bows that match the table runners and was really happy. What color are you looking for? Did you ask the wc for options? You can look at them when you get down there in person to confirm the color. I don't remember the price per chair but I think it was like $6 more to have it decorated.

Congrats on making the switch.

EDR is incredible
I thought the money was insane too, but now that its over, it was sooo worth it.

They didnt charge me to set things out .... but I have heard different things.
I think they try to, but if you take the stuff with you to your wedding meetnig, they will just ofer to put it out, and never charged me (thats how it worked for me anyway). I had planned to have my bridesmaids put it out should EDR want to charge me. So maybe have a back up option like that in case they try to charge you.

As for the reception being cool.

I think if you want it on the beach, go for it.
Most nights it was fine there, but there was one that was pretty windy and cool (cool, not cold by any stretch, you just needed a shawl).
(also, I was there in end of Nov, so might be even warmer now).

I do have a suggestion if your worried.
Since your in Mexico, it would be nie to have it outdoors rather then in a hall (in my opinion)
Perhaps having it at the Health Bar or at Tuscanes would be a better option. Then you are still outside (nice) but off the beach (so not as windy if it happens to be a windy night).

Just a thought.
Hello,

I'm considering the switch to EDR and I just wanted to ask you if you could some costs... if you don't mind of course!

What were the standard room costs per day?

How many people did you have and what was the final total?

I apologize if these questions are too personal... I am so lost on knowing how much I need to save for my wedding and since I'm paying for it sad.gif I really want to be sure I save enough if you know what I mean.

Thank you to anyone who can help me out!

Hi all! I need some help! EDR was the first resort we looked at, but it won't work for us (we have kids attending & the other Karisma resorts are too expensive for our guests). The problem is, every other resort's wedding options don't seem to live up to what I've seen at EDR! So now... we are debating staying at another resort nearby & having the ceremony & reception at EDR. Does anyone know if that is possible or have any advicehuh.gif I really love what I've seen. All the pictures seem beautiful, and it SEEMS like you can make it a bit more of your own, than some of the other standard packages at other resorts..... but I'm also concerned because it seems like they have a lot more "hidden fees" & additional costs than some of the other resorts.

Does anyone have any ideas or advice for me? I'm Catholic, so I have to get married in a chapel.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
