She says it's just as private as the Presidential Gazebo, but I am nervous about it. The one thing I do not want is to have a ton of people in bathing suites standing around watching, ya know?
You should be fine at 6:00. Most people start getting ready for dinner about then and the beach will be clear. Just try to decide when you get there if you like that location. You can choose to move it to another gazebo if it is available. Some other EDR brides have said they changed the location once they got there.

They are so amazing there with coordinating and organizing. I think we've had brides (on this forum) get married at almost every location on the resort, and they have all been so beautiful-- so it's def a win-win!
You guys will have such an amazing time- just enjoy every second of it!

Wish I was going back with you guys!!!!
Thanks Shannon. You have really helped to alleviate a lot of stress with your glowing review of EDR! Hope you are enjoying life as a newlywed! I know you guys have been together for a long time. Does it still feel like you guys are newlyweds or does it feel the same? Micah and I have been living together for 6 years so I am curious.

We got married at gazebo 55. We loved the view and it was private and beautiful set up. We wouldn't of done any different.

How much time did you allow between your ceremony and your reception to take pictures? I am afraid I will miss out on part of my reception because the ceremony starts at 6:00 and the reception starts at 7:00. What do you think?
I had them come for pre bridal for 30 minutes, ceremony at 5pm then reception started at 7. So I did have 2 hrs which was more time than needed. We did pictures from 5:30-6:15 on the beach and ceremony site. As we walked toward reception took some others on the grounds and actually got to our reception about 6:45. They were all set up and ready to go...Are you doing reception coverage and how many hours are you doing? I would think you may only get to the reception about 15-30minutes later. So depends on the photo coverage you have. Our ceremony also started about 10 minutes late.

Thank you so much. I was very happy with the purple too. I loved the iris' too I'm so glad I went with them. The contrast was perfect. They also corelated them in with my hanging corsages. Then my husband also wore one.

Hmm-the name change has been super weird, but other than that-- it doesn't feel hugely different-- though, it's always catches me off guard to hear someone say "wife" or "husband"- like who are they talking about!- and when I call the bank or something and they say "mrs watkins" -I giggle to myself -but other than that- not really... but we are like you guys- been together --it'll be 11 yrs this fall- and lived together the past 5..... it's been fun-- but not hugely hugely different.. I did chop 7 inches off my hair- kinda randomly- I think that and the name change has big the biggest differences since we got back! :)

I just heard from Monica
Apparently they need to know ahead of time - otherwise they will make half of one of your choices and half of the other -
This is for the private reception.
They need to do this to help figure out costs etc.
UGH! One more thing on my list of things to do now!

That is so funny because I plan to chop my hair off too once we get back. I didn't even think about adjusting to the name change - obviously, my head hasn't moved beyond the wedding yet!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
