They actually played one of the songs that played while guests were being seated, while we did our finger stamps, and the witnesses were signing the certificate-which I hadn't asked (or known to ask!) -but that actually turned out perfect!

They did great with the music- I was worried about that too. Also, they just played straight from the iPOD at the reception- it worked out really well-- you have no worries! :)
Thanks Shannon. Do you sign your certificate during the ceremony? Do you suggest I include a song for that with the CD? How long does it take?

I'm so thrilled there are so many new EDR brides just back to answer all of my insanely neurotic questions!!!!!

haha!! I think we all had the neurotic questions - just comes with the territory :)

the signing might have taken a whole minute - maybe! I didn't include a song for it and it was fine without one! there is a lot of sound coming from the ocean :)

I totally agree- I think like maybe it got through one verse- maybe!??! It certainly wasn't needed.... It was kinda random they started playing it-- it was completely fine (esp since I hadn't heard the song yet, on the system, since it played before I came out! :))- but not needed....

My one big advice would be to just enjoy the ceremony- I didn't think I'd be nervous -at all-- and I kinda freaked out. The ceremony is kinda blurry bc I was all crying and emotional (embarrassing now- blush2.gif)-- but I just wished I had taken a huge deep breath right before and enjoyed every second and let it sink in--- I told my DH we needed a "do-over" where I wasn't crying and all over the place! (preferably at EDR with a week long vacation along with it-hehe)

It's funny you wrote this, because my boss just gave me the same advice. She told me to just take my time, breathe, and try to make myself look at everyone as I walk down the aisle. A friend of ours who had a DW recently said she would have enjoyed hers more if she didn't worry as much about the details and just let the resort do their job - which they obviously seem to know how to do well.

Don't be embarrassed about crying, Shannon, it is such an emotional moment. It is very sweet actually.

We just went with our own music on Ipod & CD's. Our guest had alot of fun dancing with the music we selected. I didn't see anyone with live band for receptions while I was there.

I seen one at Tucanes & it looked beautiful. I almost wanted to switch mine to there. I think no matter where you have it the do a great job setting it up. Never seen Health bar set up but I did like that location too. Most of them give you privacy too. The only location I would say you would not get privacy at would be Gaviotos, know that I've been there. There usually are 10-20 guest sitting at the bar since the only bar area in casitas after swim ups close.

Shannon, we saw your ceremony, and you didn't look all emotional and freaked out, you were absolutely beautiful!! In the golf cart you looked a little nervous, but I couldn't tell once you stepped out! It was very sweet.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
