We played "somewhere over the ranbow/it's a wonderful world" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (I lived in Hawaii for 5 years). It is five minutes long, which seemed perfect. The signing of the legal documents takes a while so it was a nice element.

A couple came up to us the next day and said they had seen our wedding (we never noticed anyone) but said that having all the music we did made it a lot nicer than another ceremony they had seen earlier in the week. It was a nice compliment after putting a lot of work into the ceremony.

I didn't do programs. It's so short and our group was so small it didn't seem necessary to me. I had asked for an outline from Valeria and never got one. We added our vows and a reading but it was pretty awkward b/c Glorai was asking me during the signing of the documents what should be done next. Not a huge deal but it would have been better if it had been planned out in advance. I had forgotten to ask in the meeting. We went over it on the phone the day before but it wasn't totally smooth.

Thanks Bre!! and how jealous am I that you lived in Hawaii!?!!!? I've been debating about the programs- it's been stressing me out a lil bit- so I'm leaning to just letting it be,not doing the programs- and just making sure the cd's with the music are clearly labeled and adding a song during the signing stuff... We are having a pretty small crowd- so it shouldn't make a difference...Thanks so much!!!

PS- I told Valeria how excited I was after seeing your photos and she told me to tell you she was waiting for pix- so if you haven't sent her the link! :):):)-- how sweet is she!?! :)

i have read the threads about tipping but am unclear as to if these people are tipping their personal WC's that they have hired, or the ones that are from the resort? again, does anyone know if we actually meet with Valeria or Monica once we get there or do we deal with other people from the resort once we are there? I have heard there are two men that help once we get to the resort and I would hate to bring a bath and body works gift bag for them!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
