Thanks in advance,
I used this girl for my stationary - she's doing everything and is amazing. She can customize the cost for your budget and she is incredibly responsive and friendly.

I don't think that the number of people matters so much as if you want any truly "private" time... If you don't mind having a semi-private gathering with some other guests around you, then just pick whatever bar you want, and go for it.

We had our dinner the night before the wedding and then went to the Martini Bar, so we could watch the Eagles game. On the wedding day, we had the ceremony and abotu an hour later did our reception at Tucanes. In between that, we took some pictures and went to the martini bar with just our bridal party.

Most of our guests went back to their rooms or the beach bar for a drink before the reception started up!
We do want to also do something private afterwards with our guest. Did you only do cocktails & desert after ceremony? We were thinking maybe doing mexican party after ceremony. What are your thoughts on that. Then night before do one of the rest. for free wedding package. May go with Fuentes, that seems to be more recommended. Now at the private party they are only semi private since they are at a bar? Which is fine with us too. I thought we could do music from Ipod and atleast do our first dance & the cake cutting there. Were you happy with Tucanes?

Also, make a cover for the cd that includes the number of the song and when it should be played (ie- pre-ceremony music while guests are seated, bridesmaids, brides processionals, document signing music, recessional, etc.)
I had found a cd that is all piano music, love songs. I was almost thinking of just playing it through the entire ceremony as background music. Do you think that would work or be too loud? If we decide to do music just during certain times through the ceremony does the wc do all that? What is your recommendation?

We did not have music for our dinner since we ate at El Cocotal and I can't imagine they would let you play music with other resort guests dining there...

We did all of our ceremony music on one playlist for the iPod.

We made another playlist for the reception and figured out the timing for our dances, toasts, rounds of tequilla, etc... Then, we let the music dictate when it was time to do things...

Hope that makes sense. For example, we knew that when "Pour Some Sugar on Me" came on, it was time to cut the cake and start desserts... We only needed someone to pause the iPod on occassions and our "DJ" friend was great and would talk a bit between songs or introduce people, etc... You could totally do without that but for us, it was like having a real DJ for free!!!
I will probably do seperate playlist too. Its just trying to correlate it all together. As I mentioned thought I would just do the piano music for ceremony. Alot of great songs. Maybe I could correlate that with the ceremony. Or do you think it could play as background since there is no singing in it at all?

I think it was probably a lot easier to just put it all in order, on a iPod though...

If you want to see our spreadsheet listing songs, timing, etc... just PM me and I can send it to you. Like I said, we put a ton of time into the music, but it was worth it...

We got to our reception by 6:30 and time really did fly! Before we knew it, we were taking the party to the swing bar at 10:15!!!
If you don't mind I would love to see your spreadsheet for song listings too. I'm sure it took you alot of time & that I'm running out of. It would be of great help & give me some ideas.

We played music before the ceremony, for processionals, during the signing of the documents (used a long song for this one) and the recessional. The music was pretty loud so I think playing it the whole time would be distracting and might make it really hard for your guests to hear. Plus, if you are getting married on the beach, you want to hear the sound of the ocean! :)

Hey Bre-how long was the signing of the documents? I didn't think about playing a song for that, but it does make sense- could you post a picture of your programs for ceremony?-- trying to get a feel for the ceremony outline...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
