Do it however YOU want. There's no specific official order!

We had music as guests arrived and had appetizers served. Then we showed up. Danced our first dance and some of the other special dances. Some music to get everyone up and going. Slideshow. More music. Cake and desserts. More and more upbeat music as people got crazier and did more shots!!!

My super smart bride got white sandals to wear under her dress and loved them... She had no problem getting down the aisle and was comfotable all night long.

I know you will all want pictures of them as well, so let me see what I can do...

I think I'll have different playlists for eating and for dancing, so if you eat, dance, eat, dance you can just switch back and forth?

We thought the hanging corsages were amazing looking and one of the most reasonably priced parts of the whole wedding. And they were one of the few things that you only had to pay once for and then got to use again and again...

We made one playlist, had it planned out well with regards to timing and based our eating, drinking, toasts, etc on where we were in the music.

In reality, we had it laid out enough that our "DJ" could just hit pause at certain times and then play again once we were done whatever we needed everyone's attention for.

Dinner to follow & then go to the swing bar to celebrate since they have a band that is suppose to be fantastic. Hopefully it all works out good just going that route.
That should work fine. We just switched out the dinner and cocktail party beacuse we wanted to have our most private event right after the wedding instead of sharing that time with other people at a bar or restaurant... Again, just a matter of preference.

The swing bar is a great time. Just make sure that you eat somewhat late so that you get there when the band is playing music and not during the "show" for the evening...

I love the programs you did up. Did you use a program to do them? How can I go about doing these? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Like I said, part of it may have had to do with them serving a group of 40 at once. Plus, the plain fact that you are limited in your menu choices is a little bit of a downer considering that you're used to ordering whatever you want every other night.

We went with El Cocotal because of:

1. the location near the martini bar, where we knew we would be watching the Eagles-Patriots game. (Damn it, they almost pulled it off!)

2. from what we could tell and heard, it would be a bit more intimate -- really wasn't but with 40 some people you can take over anywhere you want thewave.gif

If I had to do it all over again, I think I would have chosen Las Fuentes because:

1. we loved the food there, actually ate dinner there twice!!!
2. distance to the martini bar wouldn't have been that big of a deal
3. ambiance would have been fine. Neither offers a more "private" location than the other.

Your plan to do the cocktail party the night before and dinner after the wedding would work, as would dinner the night before and then a cocktail party after the wedding. Matter of preference...

I just requested the menu choices for Las Fuentes friday to see what are choices are. I have the menu for El Cocotal's its thursday there gourment night menu. Not sure if you are familiar with the choices & how the choices are. So it sounds like you would recommend Las Fuentes over El Cocotal's.
Now did you do a private party? I hope it all works out the way planned for us so far. I'm trying to cut some cost. Also think with 16 ppl don't really need a private reception. If we had more I would consider it. Any recommendations? I was also considering going to martini bar in between ceremony & dinner while we do pictures. Where did you go after your dinner?
Any suggestions?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
