El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Hello,

I was just wondering how your free reception turned out since I am also going with the free always and forever package and I have some of the same concerns. Was the "Semi-Private" room really semi-private? Was it cramped? Boring? lol Im getting married in June and I haven't been able to get much information about the free reception. Thank you!! :-)

Check out the information on the official thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/73076-official-el-dorado-royaleel-dorado-casitas-royale-thread/

I believe there are also some photos of the locations.

Best and Worst Photographers from Lomas? We have an option to use a $350 credit towards Caribe Photography but I'm not 100% sold on the quality of their work. Looking to stay under/or close to $2000 for photography. I would really like a package that includes ceremony and reception.

@@MurphyKieffer, We used Caribe and were very happy with our pictures! I went with Caribe because I wasn't into the "dramatic" style of some of the other photographers, so I was very happy with the style of our photographer. We had Denise and she was great at wrangling our large group, really listened to our preferences, and caught some great moments. She was there for 5 hours and for us, that was more than enough time to take pictures of getting ready, the ceremony, our friends and family, of the two of us together, and a good amount of the reception - and total cost was $1,200. Hope that answered some of your questions!

We flew our photographer down and paid for her to stay for 3 nights to avoid the outside fee. After receiving our credit for having booked so many rooms it was basically no additional cost to us outside of her flight (approx $500). We haven't received our actual wedding photos yet but we did a "sunrise session" the day before our wedding and she also captured our welcome dinner and they're posted on her blog here: http://sharayaphoto.com/blog/

I'd suggest going with someone you truly trust for your photos. You won't be disappointed.

@@MurphyKieffer We originally booked and put a deposit down on one of the resort approved photographers, but we were never 100% happy with our choice. We just selected the "best" of the approved vendors. Then I came across Quetzal Photo and fell in love with their work. After talking it over, we decided that Quetzal was worth paying the outside vendor fee and even if we couldn't get our original photographer deposit back. Luckily we did get the deposit back and it's going towards the outside vendor fee, BUT long story short - go with who's photography you love. Your pictures are going to last forever and help tell your wedding story visually.

@@Nichole0878 Do you mind sharing some photos from your wedding?

Thank you ladies for the other suggestions but our budget is small so the option to bring a photographer with us or use one from outside the Lomas Wedding Group will not be an option. It will either be Caribe or one of the other photographers offered on the website that does not require the $800 outside vendor fee.

@@MurphyKieffer, We were in the same boat. I love pictures, but there was no way we could spend over $1500 on a few hours of photo snapping. I uploaded a few pictures from our photographer to my profile on this site, but I'm not quite sure if I posted the link correctly (they're also out of order?)! Let me know if you don't see them on the gallery on my personal page :)

Hi there EDR Brides! We are getting married at the EDR on July 3rd 2016!

So excited, but can see from reading this forum that it's going to be tricky working with lomas travel to coordinate from afar. I'm working with Carolina. Hopefully she will be good.

Newlyweds-

despite the trouble with communication leading up to the wedding, how did it go when you were actually there? Any tips for making sure you get what you planned and paid for?

Anyone using Shelli's Travel? She's been really great so far!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
