El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hello! I have been following these posts for a while, as many other brides-to-be do :) I'm sure.

Our date is 11/15/14 and we are getting married at EDR at Fuentes Gazebo! I'm so excited! One of our friends was going to be our photographer, but it sounds like she is not going to be able to make it. Could anyone recommend photographers that they had a good experience with? I sent a message to Sarani, and am waiting to hear back. I'm worried that its cutting close to the date to find someone.

Hi there! your big day is only a few months away - how exciting!

check out Bicoastal Images - Jen is on BDW (http://www.bicoastalimages.com), and I've really admired their work. She & I have corresponded on several topics, and I'd work with them in a heartbeat. They aren't an approved Karisma photographer, so you'd have to pay the $800 vendor fee.

Mexican Wedding Photos is also a BDW vendor, they are an approved photographer with Lomas. Here's a gallery of their weddings at EDR. http://mexicanweddingphoto.com/doradoroyale/joline_scott/

Good luck!!!

Hola ladies

So my Mom and I decided to go down to EDR in September for a little 3-night stay - we have some wedding planning things to figure out so that's our excuse to take a little trip down there  :P

I really down want to haul all this stuff down there and find out we either can't use it or find a place to use it so this is going to be a really trial run for us lol

Are you going to try and time it with the BDR? You should- you get $500 back for attending! Plus you get a better sense of their weddings. They have one every month!

I think you'll be happy with a  preview trip! Definitely try the different restaurants while you are there, and get reservations for Fuentes and Santa Fe Grill. I'd go to D' Italia Casitas too - it's our favorite! Out of 5 nights on our last trip, we ate there 3 times...

Hello!  I am getting married on November 16 of this year at EDR. Marisol is my wedding coordinator.  It takes her over a week to respond every time I send an email.  She also seems to be very unorganized.  Has anyone ever changed wedding coordinators?  Is there one you can suggest that is more on point?  We chose Gazebo 55 for our ceremony and Tucanes for our reception.

Also, we have 10 people that need hair and makeup done (including myself).  My wedding is at 4.  What time do you suggest we start?

a week isn't unusual for a response time unfortunately. they are managing 2-3 weddings per day, and tend to be more responsive as your date gets closer 60 or 90 days out. have you tried using the live chat feature on the Lomas website? sometimes brides have been able to get responses easier that way. This is one of the more frustrating aspects of planning a destination wedding for every bride!

has she provided you with a copy of your spreadsheet yet? that's where they should be capturing all of your decisions, pricing, etc.

hair/make up: They have 3 chairs in the salon in the Casitas, plus the bridal suite (separate from the others). I would plan to start no later than 10am. The bride will probably take at least 2 hours, and estimate 90 minutes each for the others. Not sure if they will only have 3 stylists available in Casitas, or if they are able to add more based on how many of you there are. I would definitely ask your coordinator!

Hey, I'm finally getting rid of some of my wedding items... a year and a half later.  Definitely time to reclaim my guestroom.  Included in the things I'm selling are some postcards that I had made from my OOT bags, the back has them labeled as being from EDR.

I'm selling them off of a weebly site I made. http://peacock-wedding.weebly.com/

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Hello All!  I am getting married November 16, 2014.  I am having my wedding at Gazebo 55, then a cocktail hour at Gazebo 55 followed by a reception at Tucanes.  How much lighting does the Tucanes have?  Is it necessary to have lanterns?  So far I ordered floating candles for the pool and 6 poles to be wrapped in Christmas lights.  Are the Christmas lights a necessity?  My WC hasn't been much of a help in deciding on decor for my events.

Hi ladies, I just booked my wedding for May 16, 2015 at EDR. Has anyone had a larger guest list? I would love to have the reception at Tucanes but I am not sure what the maximum amount of people we can have there.  I think we will have around 60-70 people.

Any advice on planning at wedding at EDR? Thank you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
