El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

So I got the response for the pricing on that ceremony setup - not that bad actually!

But what I'm concerned about now is my wedding planner asked to pick my ceremony location and dinner reservation - we already have discussed this months ago! And then she sent me a "pricing sheet" which basically had nothing on it.

I emailed her back and hoping she just had a major brain fart, but I'm a "little" concerned!!

did you receive a pricing sheet that had stuff on it previously? if so, I'd resend that. if not, I'd send back a list of the decisions, and include the emails where you requested your venues and such. it sounds like poor documentation on their end...frustrating!!!

I don't know that I've seen a cocktail set up at Tucanes. I know they do the high top tables for the cocktail parties, and assume you could have some options about where to set them up - under the palapa, or out around the pool. Since their standard linens are just white, I would suggest a pop of color with a sash (chair sash) or overlay tied around the table cloths.

The 4th or 5th photo down is the high top tables for cocktails (standing cocktails as they call them):

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they quote you for the ceremony decorations? I'm wanting something similar.

Does anyone have photos of a cocktail reception at Tucanes? We've decided to just do a cocktail reception instead of a sit down dinner, and just wondered if anyone had photos of anything like that?

The gazebo with the flowers on top alone was $1200, and each pillar you see is $300 a piece. We are doing 4 pillars and the gazebo setup.

Hi everyone! We are planning an EDR wedding for Nov 16 and although I've been stalking this page for a while, I guess I'm getting to the point of actually planning decorations and such so thought I'd pop in and say hi! Our ceremony location is on the beach in the casitas section next to Generations and our reception is going to be on the Generations pier. We're still thinking on how to work in cocktail hour(s) with everything but are super excited!

Alright EDR brides: anyone know if Karisma charges an outside vendor fee for a makeup artist? I really want Beso Brides and hoping there is other birdes that snuck them in for only the day pass cost lol

From what I heard you can try to argue the angle that you want airbrush makeup which the onsite makeup artists don't do, this mag warrant them only charging you a day pass- but brides have pushed against that too.

But is be ready for a fight until they give in!

@@SoontobeMrsP2014 - we gave our welcome bags out at the welcome dinner (we used our semi-private dinner as a welcome dinner vs. reception).

depending on how many guests/rooms you have - you may be able to tip a bellman to take you around on the golf cart to drop them off - if the $4 per room is out of your budget.

For those who have been married here - was there a good way to give out welcome bags? Does the resort charge to deliver to rooms? Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
