El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I don't think I'd call it a disco..but Guacamayas is the main location for night time entertainment. It's B2 on the map - right by the chapel, close to the beach.

I was trying to be nice! The martini bar was our evening destination... or the beach bar or the bar by the casitas. We stopped by Guacamayas one night, and didn't stay long. I've heard others like it though - I think it really depends on the night, and the crowd!!!

Well that really sucks! When I read there was a disco on the EDR website I assumed that it was a nightclub.  UGH! The nightly entertainment better be good after our wedding or else I won't know how to entertain 30 people!

Right - nightly entertainment. so some nights they have a band doing cover songs, one night is usually the fire show, I think I remember karaoke one night, and maybe a cirque-like acrobatics show? the schedule will be listed on the board by the main pool, and you can find it in the weekly newsletter from the concierge, or in the bathrooms by the main pool. That schedule also lists other events going on - tequila tasting and such. so definitely check it out to plan the day. plus - your wedding will be listed in the newsletter, so make sure you grab one for your momentos!!

EDR is quieter at night than we expected it to be - no doubt about it. but, with 30 - you guys can hit the martini bar, the beach bar or the bar by the Casitas that stays open later (only til 10 or 11 I think) and make your own party if guacamayas isn't doing it for you.

we were generally crashed by midnight...since we were so busy during the day. lame, I know!!!

I second Allie. Once night was like "Mexican Idol" or something like that haha. We actually didn't go by any night, but some of the shows did seem interesting. I have been to other adult only AI that have been a lot crazier, but I actually appreciated that it was more mellow at EDR, especially on the casita side. We were also in bed pretty early, just from being out in the sun and whatnot during the day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
