El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi girls, we just finalized our wedding booking at EDR this upcoming Oct. I was wondering if anyone here had experience/opinion on James or Lunic from Sarani Photography. It unfortinuate that Sarani herself won't do a shoot less than a full day booking (since we read good things about her work). If anyone has any info. it would be greatly appreciated!

I had this problem too and i am also disappointed sarani couldn't be our photographer, if you look on sarani website and look under photographers I think there are links to James and lunics blogs, we chose lunic as she looked more artistic and less posey but both look really good, has anyone used lunic? Sorry for yet another question but I want to have the petal isle runner, has anyone had one? Do they blow away in the wind? Also we are only having 6 guests and not sure what to do with 6 chairs I don't want it to look crap lol any ideas? Im thinking it would look so much better if we had 2 rows of 2 either side but it doesn't look like anyone else can make it unfortunately

I personally had some pedals thrown on the aisle runner, and it is usually quite windy, so some might move around a bit. But the wedding coordinators put them down just before the bride walks the aisle...so most stayed down for me. 6 people will be a wonderful, intimate wedding. Lots of options to decorate the chairs a little. An organza ribbon tied on the back; streamers hanging down either side of the chair which would move in the wind. A small fan left on the seat for your guests. Perhaps one of those flower balls hanging in the back middle of the chair...which could then also be moved to decorate your table as centrepieces. Take a look at some of the planning threads, they may help spark some ideas...and since it's a smaller wedding you can really personalize things! Good luck!

it's a seriously good dessert!!!

We didn't do the petal runner, as it just wasn't something I was interested in.

have you chosen your ceremony location yet? are you set on having chairs? is it a symbolic or religious ceremony?

I'm almost thinking with 6 guests, it'd be so lovely to have them stand WITH you at the gazebo. along each side, or fanned behind you when you walk to the "altar" (or table). they could be 3/3 on each side of the aisle, standing, and then as you walk forward and join your groom, close ranks to form a single line. then it's like they are really part of your ceremony, standing up with you as your witnesses, your support as you are starting your life married life together. but if it's a really hot day, or a long religious ceremony, that might not be feasible.

If you want the chairs/seats, I think I'd put out 8, 2 rows of 2 on each side, or 1 row of 4 on each side of the aisle. You'll probably have 4 on one side, and 2 on the other, but that's ok too. I wouldn't stress about how it'll look. those 6 people are there for you, and you will have an amazing time!!

I can say with certainty that it is amazing!!!  The Italian restaurant is the best.  Please while you are there try the lobster lasagna.  I died and went to heaven the night that we ate at D'Italia in the casita's section.

Thank you for your reply :) originally it was just gong to be the two of us so we are really happy both our parents are coming and my sister and close family friend, our ceremony is on 6th November at the d'italia casitas gazebo at 4pm, we are just having a normal legal ceremony, how long does it take? I actually really like the idea of everyone standing with us, i just don't want them to be standing for too long as my father in law has a bad knee!

We chose to have our meal at the italian reseraunt as we love italian and everyone seems to rave about the food in reviews

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
