El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

So I've had my fake flowers sitting in our guest room for about three months, and finally decided I needed to buckle down and make my bouquets. I'm making one for my MOH and myself; this one is the one for my MOH. Mine will be mostly purple, with a few white. I want honest opinions. Do these look homemade? I'm worried eveything is going to look clearly like it was a DIY. I have no problem redoing it if it does, I'd rather do that and have it look perfect! I wasn't sure about the gray ribbon. But white just didn't look quite right with the ivory flowers/dress, and we couldn't find the perfect shade of ivory. LL LL
I think the flower grouping looks really good. My only comment for you- if you really want it to look professional I would wrap almost the full stem. Most professional wraps from about 2" under the blooms to about 2 1/2-3" from the bottom. That way when you or your BM is carrying the flowers, you will see part of the wrap, not just green stems. But overall, it looks fantastic!

Thanks! My MOH is actually coming for dinner tonight, I'll see what her thoughts are. I just did it like that because that's how I remembered our flowers being for her wedding last year haha :)

Ok, quick question about your iPods and your wedding music set up.

Did you label your playlists like this:

Guest Seating

Groom/Best Man

Maid of Honor

Bride

Signing of Certificate

Dinner Music

After Dinner Music

or did you label it like;

Wedding Playlist

and then label songs as I did above

Then have your dinner Music playlist and After dinner Music list with songs just labeled their normal names?

I just want to make sure it's easy for them and for me pinkie.gif

So I was super wedding productive and crafty this weekend. I feel so much better now that all of this stuff is done. I posted a picture of my MOH bouquet (which I did add a little more ribbon going down - thanks Murmel!), but I finished mine yesterday. The one picture is a bit dark. But the broach on mine is my something old from my Grandma, so I have something of hers with me as they aren't attending. It's what her dad gave to her mom when my Grandma was born (follow that? haha). So it's super sentimental. I also finished our menus and program fans. What a load off!  We leave 1 month from tomorrow :D I am so sick of this Chicago weather and ready for some warm!

I'm a little worried it all looks "homemade" - which obviously it is, but I don't want it to come off that way haha.

We did the separate playlists- similar to your first example. Then we had the songs listed in that playlist (example for guest seating, i think we included 5-6 songs). Don't forget procession (for walking down the aisle after you're married), and your first dance! We also had separate lists for dancing music. This way it's easy to find what they are looking for.

The printing looks super professional! Love the menu cards, I love clean lines! Your bouquet looks fantastic- but I still can't follow the brooch story LOL! It's all going to look wonderful when it comes together.

Thank you for the reassurance! Of course my FI and Mom will tell me that, but I can't trust them to be brutally honest :) I'd rather have someone be honest and tell me so I can fix it, then leave it look bad haha.

We leave in 30 days - I can't wait. It is currently pouring in Chicago, and some 80+ degree and sun sounds amazing! Time has flown. I can't believe my bachelorette is this weekend! We're doing a BYOB painting class in Chicago, then a BYOB sushi dinner, and out :) Sam's is this weekend too. Thank god strip clubs skeeve him out, I won't have to worry! They're just going to a hockey game.

For those of you who had a legal ceremony done there, how long did it take for you to get your translated copy of the marriage license sent to you?  I was married on February 23rd and still haven't gotten it.  I know they say it can take up to 60 days, but I'm starting to get nervous cause that's only 2 more weeks away and i'm dying to start getting things changed over to my new name.  How long did it take for others to get it?  Am i overreacting or should I contact the WC?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
