El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

This is a mock-up of our centerpieces. Does it look okay only having the rocks and candle in the smallest vase? It's so small that a flower didn't really fit, plus I didn't want all 3 to look exactly the same.

So I was just looking at the EDR website and was reviewing all the restaurant options. I opened up the menus for all the different places, and I am starving now! Everything looks so amazing...I can't wait! If anyone has any recs for where to go or what to get, let me know!

Also, what's the deal with this "water journey" at the spa? I'm getting my hair and makeup done the morning of my wedding and was emailed about it. Worth it, waste of time? Is it extra $? Lemme know!

The food is SO GOOD.

definitely go to D'Italia Casitas - this was our favorite dinner place. My DH loved the Osso Bucco, and the seared tuna appetizer. and I loved everything I had there too.

We usually ate lunch at JoJos - loved the calamari and the tuna appetizers. I'd pass on the burgers, but the fish & chips were good, and the quesadilla too. I'd also check out the wraps at Las Olas (Casitas 31) - that was a fantastic lunch spot!!

The pizza at the pizza corner is just so-so in my opinion - it's pizza toppings on a tortilla. however, the bacon wrapped hot dog was super yummy (I know, I'm weird - I love hot dogs).

and ask for the fondue menu at La Isla for dinner one night. YUM!!!

we really enjoyed our group dinner at Cocotal also - I'm kind of sad we didn't go back for dinner another night.

I didn't do the water journey - we just didn't make the time. from what I hear it's progressing through several pools of water/spas. If you are just doing your hair & make up on your wedding day, I'd probably pass on doing the water journey right before those appointments - you'd have to wash your hair again (if you got it wet), and dry it before the appointment (the salon can do that for you, but will charge extra). it's included with any spa service, no additional charge. so if you're doing massages on another day, that's when I'd do the water journey.

As always, thanks for the tips! I'm like salivating at my desk now :)

Hi Ladies,

Please give me an advice... We are going to have a small wedding ( about 15 people). But we want to have a nice party so we decided to hire a DJ. Should we go with Lomas choices or better get an outside vendor? Did anybody of you hired a Lomas travel DJ?

Thank you!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
