I love your dress too, it is so elegant!

Your pictures came out beautiful! I was debating on caribe or using an outside vendor but that outside vendor fee is really making me rethink caribe.

Thank you so much for sharing. I feel much better about my choice now and I did go with a bit larger package in order to have more time for my photo booth type pics and the donkey.

I am getting married at the same gazebo! YAY!!! You have really eased my mind. 8 weeks to go and I am SOOOO excited.

Very beautiful pictures, you both look so happy.

It's funny isn't it? We just put down our deposit to go back to EDR in November to celebrate our anniversary.

We are using our vouchers and discount from getting married at EDR to take a 5 day anniversary trip to El Doradoa Seaside Suites! I know it's quite a bit smaller, but we are so looking forward to getting pampered El Dorado style!

That's so exciting Nikki!!!! It will be here before you know it. We visited the Azul properties in January and it was nice seeing the kid property's, but next year we are headed back to El Dorado Royale with a bunch of people. I do eventually want to try seaside, you will have to let me know what you think about it. I still can not believe how quickly one year is coming up. It feel's like we were all asking questions about how to plan our wedding's and that they were coming up. Time sure is flying!!! Hope married life is going well. :)

I need to vent. We put an RSVP on the wedding invites of 3/1/13 - last Friday. Naturally several of my FI's sibilings don't respond. Which, I find to be incredibly rude. We have been told this entire time one of his older brothers IS coming. I ask him to text him to confirm which meal choice he'll want, and now we are told "I'm still not sure if I'm coming or not." Seriously?! And his sister (who has been a total b**** about the whole wedding, another store) is the same way. How do you people not know if you're flying to Mexico in two months?! I lost it. I told Sam that if we don't know by Friday, then they aren't coming. And if they show up, then they won't have a meal. Maybe I was out of line, but this was just the icing on the cake. I just can't believe how rude people can be! Sorry, end rant.

Girl you are not alone!!! I think at some point most if not all of us have had some sort of guest drama. I finally said the same thing you did, if they haven't told us they are coming by the time we make our final payment then no eats for them because I am going to spend my time  prepping for the best day of my life, not beating myself over the head to figure out who's going to show up!! smile105.gif

My supposed "best friend" has waffled back and forth so many times and still hasn't even put in for a passport but still tells me not to count her out....I'm like WHAT?? So, whatever! My FI and I will be there and the 14 guests who are confirmed and paid - that's all I need to know.

Don't sweat it and just keep planning as if they are not attending. If they let you know too last minute and miss out on the goodies (dinner, OOT bags, etc) that's on them.

Take a deep breath, have a drink and just keep swimming shots.gif

Unfortunately a lot of people don't seem to understand the importance of RSVP. You can't just plan a wedding overnight! And yes, I agree with you, it is very rude of them not to have responded at all.

I am sure it is very frustrating, especially since it's family. But take a big breath, step back and realize you can't control every situation. Right now you have to concentrate on your wedding and those people who are going to be there to support and your enjoy your wedding with you and your FI.

As for anyone who has not RSVP at this point, consider that they will not be attending- their lose in my opinion! And although it may be very disappointing, you need to move forward. We had tons of family and friends keep telling us...yes, we're coming. And in the end they didn't. And even though it caused me a lot of stress at the start I realized, that is one of the downfalls of a DW. A lot of people can't afford it, or just don't want to make the effort.

So concentrate on those that are coming, and just be willing to adjust if you have last minute joiners. We had 3 people decide to attend within the last 2 weeks. (the blessing is the WCs are super with adjusting things and adding on chairs, meals, etc.) So don't worry, if things change- it can be adjusted! Good luck, we have all had similiar frustrations with our wedding planning and sometimes it's helpful just to know you're not the only one going through this mess hug2.gif

I believer the voucher amount is calculated by how many rooms you book and by the lowest number of nights stayed. We had 17 rooms book for 4 or more night, but had 3 rooms only book for 3 nights, so we were given $750 towards our one year anniversary stay. Had the 3 nighters stayed for another night, we would have received $1,000 towards our anniversary stay. To use the voucher, you have to stay in a qualifying room for at least 3 nights. We are doing 4 nights, using our $750 voucher, but are still paying about $800 per person because you are required to stay in their most expensive room levels to use the voucher.

I believe their anniversary stay vouchers have since changed, so I would check with your WC to find out the specifics.

They only allow 2 people to ride on your cart with you to the ceremony site, so my MOH and mother rode with me. I met my dad there, which worked out fine because he was able to escort his gf of 5 years to her seat before he walked me down the isle. Plus, they literally pick  you up 5 minutes before your ceremony, so you pull up, hop off, and start walking down the isle!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
