El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I will email Valeria now and ask her about the placecards for the dinner.

We am bringing a photographer from home and paying for her to stay the night at El Dorado. Hopefully that is sufficient - I will not be happy if they charge us a fee if we are putting her up in the hotel!

Sounds like it worked out for your wedding. I was thinking of doing the mexican party the night before though. I am looking for feedback on photographer. Did anyone have the one on site or can you recommend anyone off site? That is my main dilemma at this time. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

There's tons of info on this site about wedding photographers.

Elizabeth Medina was amazing for us. We just put her up there for the night before and after the wedding.

Matt & Sol and their associates do amazing work. There are several others I've seen with very nice work but I forget their names.

What I have seen from the resort photogs has been sub-par for the most part. They also cover basically the ceremony and an hour or so afterwards. I'd look elsewhere. We are so glad we spent the extra money...

I'd imagine they might do it for you if you talk to Priscilla when you get there.

BUT, for something relatively simple, yet important. Why not ask a parent, bridesmaid or someone else to stop by, check on the palce and do it for you? That way you don't need to wonder if they will get it right!

Thank you Jennifer. I did email them yesterday & have 2 others I will check into. I did hear you can just get a visitor pass without saying anything to them (the resort) for $75 or get a room for $300 for the night for the photographer. Just what I heard. I am having a photographer at home for my reception too so don't want to spend too much. Something reasonable but yet these are my main photos of the wedding. Thanks for the info. I will get back with you if anything comes up. Appreciate your help

That is an excellent idea. I am sure my mother or sisters would be happy to do it!
Priscilla - is she someone that helps with the whole resort or does she just manage El Cocotal?

Hmmm, the name seems a little funny to me now. Have to check that oen with the wife as well.

The lady I am talking about is one of the resort wedding coordinators. She works there and coordinates with the Lomas people. She's extremely friendly and outgoing. And she makes things happen!!!

Thanks for the info. I did check into Elizabeth although she is already booked. I am so worried about getting the photographer on site. Maybe I can check into Matt & Sol also. If you or anyone knows of anyone else to recommend please let me know. Is that what you have to do is put them up for the night? I hear a day pass don't work no more. I also heard they charge you $500 to bring someone in so its better to just get the room.

I'm in need of a photographer & have tried Elizabeth medina & also claudia photography. Does anyone have any suggestions or know what they charge outside for a photographer rather than getting the one on resort. I am so worried are photos are not going to be what I really want. Those photos mean alot to us and could use your help. I'm very leary about the one at the EDR & the quality & the time you get for an hour.smile35.gif

Directly from Valeria...

Odette is the wedding coordinator for El Dorado Royale, Priscilla Espinosa is my colleague as the On site Senior coordinator for Lomas Travel.

She's great, I agree with you.

Both are good. Odette is newer, and not as aggressive. Priscilla takes charge and is all about making sure things go smoothly and you are happy!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
