BUY them!!!

Allie gave us this website and they are SOOO cheap!!!

http://www.tableclothsfactory.com

The one thing they did say is to make sure you get enough to cover the chairs at the ceremony and the reception as they don't move the chairs.

I can't WAIT to order mine, just waiting on confirmation from all my guests!!!

I'd like to do sashes on the chairs for the ceremony but was wondering if it's cheaper to buy them on my own rather than rent from Lomas. Any thoughts on what's the most economical option?

Definitely buy, I got them from the site above. They are about $0.60 per sash, and at EDR it's $4 per sash to rent. We also got our table runners from there, and paid about $4 per runner instead of the $15 they asked. We are only having about 25 people, so it's not that big of a deal for us to bring them down. If you're worried about space in suitcases, I recommend getting those space saver bags you can vacuum seal. That's what we're doing. And yes, be sure to get a set for the ceremony AND reception. We didn't think of it so I had to order more and pay shipping twice. I don't know your plans for the gazebo, but we're also bringing the fabric down for that. It ended up costing $40 for 2 colored sheers as opposed to renting for $300. Let me know if you want the site. Good luck!

Yes, I will definitely order from that site.  The rental prices are crazy compared to buying them.  What's everyone's opinion on the wedding cake design? I've seen brides' pics and some of the cake designs leave something to be desired.  Do you recommend going with a standard cake design or doing a customized one?

I'd like to get people's thoughts on the cake as well.  I didn't plan on having one because I heard they were lacking flavor and sorta dry.  If anyone else had a great cake, please let me know!

We are not doing a wedding cake. They were so expensive, I heard they taste medicore, and I was underwhelmed with the designs. With the private reception we get a dessert, which we chose as mango cheesecake, so everyone will have that in leiu of wedding cake. Since we did want to have the cake "ceremony" with the cutting and all that, our WC offered us a "petite" cake that's only $30. We'll do that so we can get some pictures, but it's not breaking the bank by any means. And if it's bad I won't feel like I wasted my money, since we'll still have the cheesecake.

We are skipping the Cake too b/c the cost was crazy expensive. Plus most of the previous brides commented that the cake they had was not even eaten since there was dessert with the meal we are getting. I know my FI is bummed to not have a cake but I think he will get over it I hope. When we went down for the site visit we actually got to taste the wedding cake all flavors. The Chocolate cake tasted awesome but they use Fondant and I am not a fan of it (even though I get why they have to go that route instead of butter cream). I will have to see about the 'Petite Cake' that might be a good alternative for my FI!

In case people are interested... I asked my WC about fabric types for the gazebo and these are the pictures he gave me:

The Organza sheers are the most popular type of fabric, these are the ones  that we offer for $150.00 USD in any other color. Organza is also use in the bows Similar to the pictures below:

?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.3&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.4&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.5&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1

The other type of fabrics is the French Tergal, this is the one that we usually use for the white sheers:

?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.6&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.7&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1

Tulle is not usual for the Gazebos, as is placed on the tiki torches. Similar to the Organza in color but different in texture, we do not recommend it for the gazebos as we get it here in the inappropriate size for the gazebos. As we need 2 meters width/ 12 meters long at least to  cover the gazebo. It is used to decorate tiki torches or wrap around poles:

?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.8&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.9&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.10&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1

Sometimes we use Satin for the very bright colors, such as silver, gold, purple, blue or even black; satin is under request and the price is $200.00 USD per sheer:

?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.11&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1?ui=2&ik=4b92fb6af2&view=att&th=13bb09af6f3c023b&attid=0.0.12&disp=emb&zw&atsh=1

-Personally the Satin is my favorite... but there is no way I'm paying 200 per sheer.... I will now be shopping for satin.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
