El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I haven't been on in a while, but i want to tell everyone that they did an amazing job and everything went perfectly. I was little worried with having a destination wedding and all and how everything would go, but they did really great job! From our photography to the food to the ceremony, it was just amazing. I wish all you soon to be brides the best!!!!

As far as music you can waltz to pretty much anything... how about "It had to be you" by Henry Conick jr,

My FI has declared that if I expect him to dance with me at our wedding, then we need to take dance lessons. As in, he thinks we should have some sort of choreography for our first dance, so we don't look silly out there. Uhm, I'm find shuffling from foot to foot and swaying to the music...

soooo first songs that are nice and slow and a good rhythm for a waltz? I have no clue...

yeah, I think you can blame me for that one. I've had to escalate the recent issues I've had with Lomas to my travel agent, who contacted the hotel, and has involved the manager at Lomas. One of my issues is that my WC (Natalia) is giving me answers that are the opposite of what I was told via a chat session (and also contradicts what all of you have shared from your experiences).

Needless to say, all is NOT well in the DW planning world right now.

Again, once I decompress a little, I will right a long review, but we had MAJOR issues with Lomas staff at the resort. Our offsite coordinator, Valeria, was on top of everything, not so much with the onsite staff... part of the reason I have taken so long to write a review was because I am still quite a bit steamed at the issues we had with the Lomas resort staff.

Also,we were told that while there might be several weddings at the resort on a given day, they wouldnt have more than one large wedding... well that's BS... we had 40 people at ours and were told it was the largest; however, there were 2 other HUGE weddings with over 60 guests the same night. Perhaps that is why there were so many errors at our reception. angry.gif

I'm hoping that I will eventually be able to not have angry memories of our reception, but right now, thinking about the errors really pisses me off. Need more time to decompress LOL.

That being said, the rehearsal dinner and ceremony were PERFECT! Cocktail hour and reception, far from it.

Oh no!!! I def. understand the need to decompress and cool off. I'm dying to hear what happened though!! I'm so sorry you had to deal with so much stress and problems with the reception sad.gif Whenever you feel up to it, please give us the details. I've been feeling confident recently because Valeria has been on top of everything, but it sounds like that means nothing, and the competence of the resort staff is everything. We have to pay our tab in full at the resort in a little over a week, so if there is anything I should know about and possibly cancel with my reception before I pay in full, please let me know!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
