El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

@Stina... we're going the last week of Feb 2013. We're still trying to finalize what date will be best for us and for our guests, but thinking it will be the Friday before everyone goes home.

There are so many decisions to make in choosing a place and gettting things finalized... I am ready for everything to be in place and to start getting excited about all the fun details of planning! :)

It sounds like you girls have a ton going on... @TheWolferts... I'm sorry to hear that you're having to worry about your pup right before you leave... we have 2 dogs, 1 that is older, and I can only imagine trying to take care of her while trying to get ready to leave for the wedding!! I hope you find a solution that will keep your pup comfortable while you're gone and also give you some peace of mind so you can relax and focus your concentration on your wedding!!

And only $100 per sheer if you use white!

Were you talking about these types of drapes?? If so, they are $150 a piece, so $300 to make it look like the below drapes. We are doing the same draping on Gazebo 55 (same Gazebo in picture), but with different color blue sashes.

The Wolferts- I am also doing the sand dollar ornament place cards and would love to see a picture yours once you are finished with them...which I guess would have to be soon since your date is coming up next weekend! Congrats!  My wedding isn't at El Dorado until February, but I'm already trying to get a head start on all these little details.  Anyways, not sure If i want to try writing names on them or just attaching a card to the sand dollars instead.  Any help would be much appreciated!

I will post pics later this week or possibly after we get back of our place cards but we wrote "Mexico" in the middle of them, "Riviera Maya" across the top arch and "May 12, 2012" across the bottom arch. The WC said that we needed to differentiate what food each guest was having, so we are doing a dark blue ribbon/ornament string for people getting steak and an aqua green for people getting fish. We decided not to write names directly on them because we had a couple of Julie's and Ryan's and we didnt want to put last names on them either since some of my GFs will obviously not always have that last name lol. I made name tags on card stock paper with the guest's full names and table number. Then I just hole punched one end and put the ribbon through them. Actually pretty easy!

Thanks!

My mom actually did all of the writing, as well as the calligraphy on our wedding invites. Maybe you could look into having a calligrapher write on them?

My mom used a fine tip blue sharpie for the "Riviera Maya" and wedding date, then she had to use a brush to paint the "Mexico" because every tiffany or aqua colored paint pen or sharpie dried too dark.We did some trial runs and also used a fine tip silver paint pen, but it dried into a dark grey, so my poor mom hand painted the Mexico to make me happy with the color angel1.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
