Is Mike one of the approved vendors for EDR? Or do we have to plop down the outrageous outside vendor fee..?

I tackled a couple of wedding DIY projects this weekend and thought I'd share them here:

glittered silver shells for the reception tables - wooden shells from Michael's dollar bins a few week ago, modge podge & Martha Stuart White Gold Glitter. some serious sparkle!!

and this will be our cake topper - I'm going to glitter the sides and add two skewers to poke it into the cake. a wooden letter from Michaels, diamond glaze and glitter (diamond glaze over the glitter too so it doesn't shed on the cake). my iPad doesn't take the best pics..ah well.

I contacted a bride that previously posted about getting the gel or shellac nail polish in a light color for a DW. She said she used an almost nude color of Shellac and the chlorine and sea water did not change the color of the polish.

I really want to get a similar pale pink/nude color for my hands so I think I am going to go for it! I contacted the spa at the EDR and they have the capabilities to take it off for a "small" fee of $42... so Im hoping I wont need to get it taken off, but it gives me piece of mind that in a mind, I can pay to have it taken off.

I had my toes and nails done in gel yesterday and they look great! I chose a coral/ pink color. I would of like french but I am getting married on the beach. The brighter the better! My fiance liked it so that's all that matters.

ALLERGIES are getting the best of me!!! Might be making a trip to the doctor tonight.

seriously? for $42? I'd pack a small bottle of acetone, triple wrapped and deal with it myself for that cost. While I'm not in chlorine or salt water day-in/day-out, my hands are always wet (I'm sort of a freak about washing my hands), and I've never had discoloration. Well, except for a little reddish on the edges b/c I just got my hair colored!! lol

Hey I get shellac all the time.. I even bought the stuff to do it myself.  I've never had it change colors either.   To take the shellac off all you have to do is soak a paper towel in an acetone nail polish remover and then wrap it around your nails for a couple of minutes.. the polish comes right off.   I've even just peeled it off without soaking, although it usually rips up an upper layer of nail in a couple areas when I do that so I don't recommend it. I say go for it and don't worry.  Just take a small travel size bottom of some acetone and you'll be ok.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
