My paper lanterns and parasols came. They are awesome!!!

I need to order a few more lanterns - I goofed up on ordering some of the sizes, but not a big deal. I'm going to use the small ones as my aisle decoration and around the top of the gazebo, and the rest for decorating the reception (whenever we figure out where that will be!). I may reuse the small ones on the tables as part of the centerpiece.

The parasols are awesome - got two orange stars that will be beautiful. they will be in front of the gazebo in the sand, and then we'll use them for pictures.

I went with the mango & turquoise lanterns as well. Now I just need to find some turquoise and orange ribbon to match!

I got them from lunabazaar.com - great prices, and they shipped really quickly.

I know I'm way ahead of the game, but you can add me to the list I'm 5/25/13.

Those of you hanging paper lanterns, How are you going to light them? or are you going to light them? I saw something about creating battery powered LED lights that you can just stick in them.  http://www.instructables.com/id/LED-Throwies/   Is anyone doing anything like that?

I'm working with Alejandro at Lomas.  After hearing how long it was for people to hear back from their WC I was really surprised that he got back to me in only a couple of days, especially because their so far out.

So far I'm really excited.  I can't wait to hear how your weddings are weather wise at the end of May.  I'm hoping that the heat won't be too bad in the evenings.  We picked a 5pm wedding time to be able to have the heat start to fade off.

I'm excited to hear about the signature drinks, since I was thinking about it anyway.  I saw an awesome way to do seating cards by placing table numbers and names on straws in the signature drinks at the cocktail hour.  It was so simple and such a great way to do it.  I think I saw it on martha stewert's website.  I pinned it on my pinterest pinboard.  http://pinterest.com/jsspiff/wedding/     if anyone wants to check it out.

Stina! You leave soon!!!

Jennifer - I really wasn't thinking about lighting the paper lanterns. My assumption was Tucanes will have enough lights that we won't need to light them (and I'm still hoping Tucanes will be available for us).

Jessica - what are your thoughts on that since you've been to the venue? (and thank you again for the insider info!!!)

Ashley - thank you for sending me the template for your programs. Very much appreciated!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
