El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I just got an e-mail from Natalia with a fee of $80. They will be placing programs and fans on the chairs for the ceremony. Putting 4 centerpieces on the table and putting stuff by the pool and stuff for our sweetheart table, as well as our favors. I thought his was pretty reasonable, she said they usually charge $5.00 a person for this. So I am very pleased.

Has anyone that has already gotten married at EDR used their steaming service?

I know my dress will get wrinkled getting it down there even if I carry it on in its garment bag. What is everyone else's plan to get their dress perfected on the big day?

Valeria told me I would need to hand over my dress 48 hours before the big day. I am very nervous that their "laundry service" might mess up my dress! msncry.gif

@TheWolferts: we've used steaming services all over the Caribbean and generally they're great! In addition, I trust the EDR more than most because it's part of a boutique group. My only advise to anyone is to remove any kind of ribbons or items that could be "left behind" in the laundry. Literally only send the dress :)

My dress corsets up that back, do you think I should take the corsetting ribbon out before I give them the dress? Will the beading be safe?

Sorry, I have literally had nightmares about my dress being destroyed or having to get married in a random dress because my dress is missing!

Hi ladies! Just an FYI, that while Valeria can give you an estimate, it's the on site team that will determine your actual set-up fees for anything you bring from home. I would average approx. $75 to hang paper lanterns and then another fee for any centerpiece set up. Do you have an eager bridesmaid or niece that can be in charge of centerpiece/ceremony set up for items coming from home? If you do, you can cut some of the costs!

And just as a general FYI, the sound system you can rent for $250 is great and quite loud! And the DJ IS amazing... he includes a smoke/bubble machine, top of the line lighting for the dance floor, and they always include an English speaking MC. I sound like I work for the hotel, but I swear I don't! I've just planned weddings at EDR before and really love what they produce :)

I haven't checked this blog lately but I noticed there were some questions about the classical guitarist.  We actually used their classical guitarist and I really liked it.  I did not get to hear the songs at the beginning but the ones I did hear I really liked.  It is a lot to pay for 45 min though and the selections are limited.  My mom really wanted live music though so that's why we went with it but I'm glad we did.  Also, we only paid $500 so if you really want one I would try to negotiate if they are telling you more.

We are getting married February 15, 2013

We are hoping to go down this June to visit the resort and meet with our WC. Our travel agent told us about a deal called Brides Dress rehearsal that is a 3 night stay for $500 per couple. So we are hoping to take advantage of that!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
