El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Emailing both (pics and playlist) would be amazing! Do you still have my email from the 'wedding schedule' spreadsheet you sent me? Also, how did you give the DJ your songs - did you email them to him, bring a CD, or...?

Thanks!!

I think Sinatra music would still be good during dinner.  I guess it depends on the mood you are going for.  For us, the beachy music was more fitting.  It made it more casual and fun to me but I don't think that would be everyone's style.  I can email you my playlist.  It is by no means very organized but you can probably use it as a starting point.

I'm not sure what's going on with the pics.  I can email those to you as well.

ashbrooke - I posted these for the other girls to see. if you want me to take them down, say the word and I will!

I think everything looked lovely! I like the arrangements on the gazebo, and the petals on the runner. there were some serious waves while you were there. was it windy?

did they set up the chair pads, or were those extra?

I feel your pain.... two of my bridesmaids backed out with 6 months to go...I told them over a year ago...and at that point they were super excited and told me it was an awesome idea!!!! Now I have a problem...My at home reception is the weekend after we get home for the destination wedding...do I let them sit at the head table? They purchased a bridesmaid dress (btw it was on 50 bucks from macys), but they are not going to be there on my big day.... what do you guys think?

Also did anyone use your own ipod for the reception? How did that work out.....

When my cousin got married in September 2010, the outside vendor fees were only $500. I was told they went up to $800 and there wasnt anything we could do about it. Since we are only using 1 outside vendor and the price is still less than it woudl cost to use one of their approved vendors, we let it go.

When is your wedding? How many guests are you expecting?

All-

Off topic, but we are less than 3 months away and owe our final guest count to our WC in 2.5 weeks, and I am having a couple of people that have already put down deposits, now say they arent coming! Im so frustrated!!!! We have been engaged for 18 months and let everyone know about the wedding over a year ago. To make matters worse, these guests arent even calling us to tell us! One sent a text with an "FYI, if flights dont go down atleast $40, we arent coming" and another we had to call because we hadnt received his RSVP card and we needed to know which menu option he preferred. My fiance keeps telling me that he wishes I didnt take it so personally, but I am having a hard time not to. Help! cry.gif

Heydenay-

I had 2 BMs back out and I had paid for all of their dresses... one has paid me back for the dress and is making a lot of effort to be involved with other wedding events, but the other has dropped off the planet, refuses to answer/return texts, phone calls or emails, and has obvisouly not sent me a check for her dress, but wont even mail it back to me so that I can try to sell it.

We arent doing a reception when we get back, but if I were in your shoes, I think if your BMs cant make the wedding due to financial reasons and are still being helpful with BM-type duties, then I think it might be nice for them to "be acknowledged" at the head table at your reception.

Thanks for the info AllieH and the pics!!!

Eldorado2012 I wonder if I can ask for a swicth gracefully without being rude?

Questions for you guys:

Does anyone know the cost for the Mexican Donkey? I havent been able to find or keep missing it in the info.

Anyone planning a wedding of 35-50? Im looking at what they offer informs of packages and its looking it will be quite expensive since we can't used the wine room. Anyone know if you get credit for the first 20 and then pay the private plating fee? I was told bt Natalia that we cant have the Sabores for the reception and will have to do a beach reception. She also said because its a smaller resort they dont cater to larger groups. I didnt think 35 was that large. Im expecting 35 but only saying 50 if more people decide they are in. I wanted a smaller resort so it was more intimate and better for the elderly guests (not as much walking) Im very confused at how much the reception will cost me with that many guests and decorated tables. Anyone know? Any sugestions for saving $ at the resort? Natalia seems to be set in stone for all the pricing and nothing can be exchanged (eg blood tests for flower or food credit) I honestly bought into the whole destination weddings are free so we really did not save much beyond the largest package.

Goodluck everyone with their planning!

It might be a little awkward to ask for the switch, but if you aren't getting the attention you need, it seems like it would be worth a try. This is a time where you need all the assistance, information and support you can get!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
