El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I just emailed my Lomas Travel coordinater exactly what I wanted.  For bouquets and the cake, I sent her pictures of what I liked and she provided me quotes of what it would cost.  That was much easier than trying to see the pictures online.  They also took my bouquets and matched hanging bouquets and table bouquets to it.  They did an excellent job.

Is anyone using the Lomas website for choosing their amenities, flowers, etc? I emailed my WC and she told me to just email her what I would like....Has anyone else been doing this?

That's good to hear! I have been thinking about flowers to. I haven't decided yet on anything, but it is good to know I can send pictures. They seem to make everything pretty easy....So far, I'm liking this DW planning!

Welcome & Congrats! This forum is full of great ideas and information!

During our visit to EDR last November, we met with our WC. I asked who she reccommended for Photographers and she told me both

Claudia Photo & Caribe Photo (both are on the approved list for EDR). I checked them both out and read reviews. All were good for both.

I found more reviews for Claudia than Caribe but in the end, I went with Caribe Photo. The prices on their packages were a little cheaper than Claudia. They responded back to me quickly. Both have web sites you can check out...Look on the Lomas Travel web site under Wedding Amenities for the list ~~~ if you haven't already :)

I am half way thru the planning process and have stayed at EDR 4 times!! We love it :)  If you have any questions, feel free to ask or PM me. Happy Planning!!

Who did everyone use for their photographers?

I used Citalli from Claudia Photo and she was fantastic!  I posted a review for her under the vendor section.  More expensive but very outside of the box kind of pictures.  I thought a few looked like magazine covers.  I don't know how they do that but she was fantastic.  Claudia Photo books up very early so best to make a decision quickly!

I think Destination weddings are the way to go and I tell all of my friends when they get engaged.  :) This website is a huge help!  As far as flowers go, I do agree that it is best to have photos of whatever you like.  Their flowers are so fresh and gorgeous and all at a fraction of what you would pay in the U.S.  Try not to stress too much over the planning.  The email responses are sometimes not as fast as you would like, however once you get there everything should fall into place for your dream wedding! :)

I was actually married at another resort in the area, simply because we had children coming for the wedding.  But I think you will be VERY pleased with El Dorado Royale! :) For the photographer, I also think it is best to select your exact photographer and get them booked quickly.  I had Juan Navarro and there was some confusion.  I reviewed his website, blog and was pleased with the style of his photos.  So I just kind of went with it.  Well his "assistant" or another photographer showed up to do our wedding photos.  At that point there is nothing you can do.  He was already at another wedding.  I did not think the other photographer was as creative as Juan and I discussed it with him after our wedding.  Apparently someone else had booked a more expensive package on the same day of my wedding so Juan went to do that one.  I gave examples of why I liked his "style" better.  He said if there were certain "poses" or styles I liked then I should have emailed him the photos before hand or brought samples with me.  So I say just communicate with your photographer before the big day, this way you will get exactly what you want and it won't be hectic.

Congratulations on your engagement Stina9562! msnparty.gif

I used ClaudiaPhoto and had Citalli Rico as my photographer.  We cannot say enough about how amazing her photographs are and how much fun she was to work with! I still check out her blog to see her newest wedding pics and she has been really helpful with some Spanish questions I had.  Highly recommend her and if you can afford to, get her for your whole ceremony and reception, we wish we had her longer than the 3 hours!

PS EDR was an amazing resort too!  If you get lost in all the posts, just throw out a question and there are a few of us recent EDR brides out there that would love to help!! rolleyes.gif

No I didn't get video, but I kind of wish I did.  The day goes by in such a fast blur it would have been nice to see it all and remember our ceremony! Lol!  Here are some of my photos, good luck deciding!! http://citlallirico.com/blog/?p=2761

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
