El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if you can use or rent a tv at the resort to play a slideshow(if we brought our own laptop/dvd)?  I would ask my WC but the lomas site seems to be down and my emails to Priscila keep getting error messages!  Grr!!censored.gif

Took our own lap top and projector. Not sure how much they wanted but I remember that it was a lot.

I took a sheet, and strapped it between the poles at Tucanes.

Worked great and save us a ton of money... Good luck!

These are the ceremony songs we are using:

Jason Maraz-I'm Yours

City and Colour-The Girl

Somewhere over the rainbow("50 First Dates" version)

Train-Soul Sister

(and then maybe some instrumental beachy songs for before the ceremony starts)

We are bringing our own i pod stereo and we have some friends that are going to run the ipod for us.  I just made playlists labelled "pre-ceremony" ,"first dances" etc and I am going to get my tech savvy FI to fade some of the longer songs out.  Also our friends will be putting our favors and decor out at the reception venue(otherwise it is $5/guest if the resort staff do it).  They actually got married this past June and we decorated for their wedding so it worked out well!

Wedding hair/make up is $86 for each at the EDR spa and I am still trying to find out a price on renting a tv/dvd player instead of the $600 projector for slideshow!  Just in case any other brides were wondering.rolleyes.gif

Hmmm...my fiance and I had considered doing that (the iPod speaker for the reception) but Carolina said that there was no power outlet for it if the batteries ran out (we were thinking of purchasing a portable BOSE sound system). So we decided to pay the 250 for their speakers. I'm wondering if that wasn't the complete truth though? Are you using power for your or do you have batteries?

Our ceremony is in the chapel and my mother has been put in charge of the music, as she is the one who wants the traditional Roman Catholic wedding. We have a lot of instrumental and spiritual music that I'm sure no one would be interested in copying =) Beautiful, though! Carolina said that they provide a CD player in the chapel so we are planning on burning CDs and using that.

Hi Ladies,

I haven't posted here yet as we are staying at Azul Sensatori and having reception there, but our ceremony is in the chapel at EDR and so far I haven't been able to connect with any other brides getting married there!  Hopefully I can find someone on this thread!  Would just be nice to chat with another bride about ceremony decorations, and our ceremony is Catholic so that makes it a bit different too.  Look forward to finding another chapel bride!  Thanks = )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
