El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Ladies, hope everyone is doing well with the final (or beginning) stages of planning!

I'm so excited b/c I have chosen to do something completely out of character for me--I decided yesterday to do a spur-of-the-moment site visit to EDR in two weeks since I've never been there. Even though our wedding is about 7 weeks away (Talk about putting the cart before the horse!!), I feel like this will really help me calm my nerves and "figure everything out", so that I can put the finishing touches on the planning.

Since we were originally getting married at a property that we have stayed at before, I've never been 100% comfortable planning a wedding somewhere sight unseen. I'm just going down for a quick three-day stay and I'm meeting my TA there. If anyone has any special requests that they would like me to check on, I'll do my best! :)

P.S. Did most of you do site visits before you decided to get married there?

We are staying in the Casitas and getting the free pkg. On top of that we are having a private cocktail hour(Mexican Donkey Bar) and reception dinner(prob at the pool location) for 30 people at a cost of around $1000. We will be doing some add ons for the ceremony too...yet to decide those! But I'm thinking of doing the $1300 gazebo decor pkg then taking some of the flowers over to the reception(I am bringing some decor too), as well as the i pod stereo for music. Has onyone done the gazebo decor pkg? Is it worth the money?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
