I am planning my wedding for December 2011! still along ways away! I am definitly thinking the mayian for our destination. So many resorts so hard to choose. I keep working on my 'short' list or not so short haha. My biggest concern so far is how the wedding packages are all focused on a small amount of people my short list for people is looking to be about 40... Me and my fiance are both the first in our families to get married so everrryone wants to come! but at least 40 is waay smaller than it would have been in Canada if we had it! any suggestions for wedding parties with large groups? thanks

Congratulations and welcome to the forum!! The resorts offer private receptions/Per person fee when your party exceeds the amount for the small packages. It depends on the resort and what choice of service, such as buffet or a la carte. Happy Planning!!

Yep, lots of resorts offer add-ons for extra guests. It can get a little pricey, so make sure to ask the costs up front.

40 people is a perfect ammount! Not too many ,but enough to have the majority of the family their. We are getting married at the Aventura Cove and Spa in Riviveria Maya. It is perfect for larger groups, but isnt too comerical. We want something with culture as well. Also if you book more then 75nights...you get free private events, and 7 days in mexico.
