Who is your wedding coordinator?  I have Elvy and I asked her the same question last week.  She said centre pieces we will have to set up on our own, but chair bows, table runners and napkins the coordinator will have set up for us.

We are really considering having our wedding at the Real. We've been there twice and loved it. Stayed in the beachfront suites and they are the BEST i really recommend staying in those rooms you walk right out to the beach and have your own cabbana right outside your porch area. We're not exactly sure on a date yet. Our family isn't really sure about a destination wedding. Do you guys have any suggestions on helping family and friends be able to attend a destination wedding? Are we supposed to pay for our bridesmaids and groomsmen to come? Thanks for the help

THank you!!!!!! I got so many inspirations from this forum that I am more than happy to answer any questions!! any!!

Ok- I actually was suppose to meet someone from Marvin's company at the lobby at 12:30pm....I called him a few times because no one was there....they ended up being stuck in traffic, so i just left to my room to get ready and figured that once they show up they will call my room...needless to say the concierge came to my room at 1:30 pm (time yourself with delivery time in case they are late! luckily my wedding wasnt until 4!) with the flowers that had been delivered...I only got a bride bouquet and 2 bridesmaids bouquets, boutteniere and 6 bags of orange and fuchsia rose petals for the ceremony isle and the tables.... so yes, you are certainly allowed to meet him in the lobby......I just gave the concierge the money and he brought it down to marvin, also asked him to keep the change as tip for doing me the favor! my mom then brought down the rose petals to the wedding center and my WC Elizabeth Sotero took care of it all........

Maracas- Where from amols.com   http://www.amols.com/catalog/product/MX750O    super cheap!! 1.95 per pair!!!!

For the tags, I just created it on microsoft word with my monogram.....made a table with some columns and copied and pasted....super easy!!

The starfish I got online (you can basically google it and find so many companies that sell them) even on ebay look for "finger starfish"....I ended up spray painting them orange and some fuchia.....and printed the tags at home on cardstock....

As for the menu- I created it myself using my monogram and playing with fonts....then i uploaded it to vistaprint.com and wala! beautiful menus for a super cheap price!

When I met with my onsite WC Elizabeth the day we arrived, I simply gave her a suit case full of EVERYTHING i had from chair sashes, to unity candles, maracas, menus, place cards etc and she took care of everything!!! I didnt need anyone from my guests to take care of anything the day of the wedding............i dont know why some WCs tell brides that they cant help with that....its their freaking job!

Let me know if i missed anything!!! Good luck with your planning!!!!

Did you have to meet with him outside the resort? I was told we couldn't exchange anything on the resort property. And I love the maracas. Were they from orientaltrading.com? I thought of them too as wedding favors and the starfish as seating cards! Were the starfish all one color and where did you get them? Did you do your menu and tags yourself? And did you have someone from your wedding party set it up for you as well as the ribbons on the pew?

CONGRATULATIONS,  you are absolutely stunning!  I'm so glad everything worked out well for you..it gives me a lil peace of mind...

I did have a couple of questions

1. How did you feel in the chapel, was there a breeze or was it warm/ hot humid...we will be getting married in August, I have oily skin and I am terrified that I am going to melt in there...?!

2. How many pew bows did you bring with you?

3. What happens to all of your stuff afterward, do they pack it right up for you in the boxes again? and I know this is one is a personal one but ....did you tip your WC?...how much did you feel was  adequate?!

Hi! Thank you!!!

The chapel was warm, but there was breeze coming in.......i was really trying not to think about it so that i didnt get too hot! my hubby was really hot tho!! since he had a suit on.......but it was warm!! just try to stay mentally cool! if you know what i mean! lol

I had brought down about 60 orange chair sashes and 60 fuchia ones!! for the guest chairs I wanted two each (one orange one fuchscia) and they ended up using the rest of the chapel, and the cocktail chairs.........They actually packed up everything for me and I picked it up at the wedding center like two days later......everything was nice and organized in my suitcase!

I actually did not tip blink.gif...... I am not a cheap person at all, but I was so tired of the stupid vendor fees ( i was aware of them) that we just couldnt spend another dime...... BUT i have read on here of brides who have tipped $100.......I am not sure if my hubby tipped her afterwards while he was tipping the waiters etc......

Let me know if you have any more questions! happy to answer them!!!

How many people do you have going???

Im getting married in November this year. I am probably going to end up with about 30-40 guests, and wanted to know if it was worth it to have the dj for that many people. I have heard all great reviews on him, just didn't want to have a dj for a small amount of people. But it sounds like I'm going to go ahead and get the dj. Also, you had your ceremony in the chapel, right? Did you use the chair sashes in there as well as for the reception?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
