Thanks for the suggestions! I will check out the types of papers Michaels has since I can get a coupon for either 40 or 50% off. I was thinking of going to staples but this is a better idea! Yay! Thanks again!

Hi pamnrodphx,

How long will you be there? My wedding is 4/27/2012. I'll be flying in on the 23rd. Please let me know how your site visit goes! I've never been to this resort so I'd love to hear your opinion.

Hi Everyone -

Our wedding is just over a month away and I'm trying to figure out what to do about the place cards (identifying each person's food options) - we have about 150 people coming to the wedding and I was initially thinking of using color coded maracas, but that would be rather pricey.  Our reception is on the beach and I'm afraid it might be too windy for actual place cards.  Anyone have other suggestions about what they did?

Thanks!!

Carmela

Vanessa C:

My fiancé and I are getting married there also, on April, 20 2012.

I have been through these threads for a while now and have compiled a list of Good and Bad on site wedding coordinators, based on brides that have had wedding there. I have heard all good things about Diana. Take a look at this link posted previously by another bride. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/60551/review-gran-caribe-real-in-cancun

You may consider sending her a PM to ask her of her experience. Please keep us after your wedding, and let us know how it went. Best Wishes.

Hi ladies!

Ok, I'm literally two months away from my wedding and I'm getting a little irritated! First, I found out Flora was my onsite coordinator which I was not too happy about. After reading all the negative comments about her on this forum I'm just a little worried...

Now, I ordered maracas from Mischka in Puerto Vallarta, she ships to Cancun on a regular basis so I figured no big deal. I just wired the money and I emailed my coordinator asking for the address for shipping and her reply was " we cannot accept any package because we have no where to store it". Really, I am paying thousands of dollars to get married at this resort and they can't hold onto a box for two weeks?! Has anyone shipped anything to the GCR before, I don't know what to do!!

Have you asked to have your onsite WC changed?

When do you arrive to the resort? Perhaps you can have Mischka deliver the maracas when you are already there......instead of two weeks before the wedding.......that might work better!

I was going to ask about shipping to hotel as well! I guess that answers my question on that! I can't believe they won't accept shipments! I still haven't received my onsite WC contact info, and my wedding is less than a month away!

But, just FYI, I spoke with a girl who got married there in March, and she ended up having Flora as her WC, and of course was not happy about it at the beginning bc of all the bad reviews, but she said she ended up being really good! Let me know if you would like to contact her so you ask her yourself whatever questions you may have, and I can let you know! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
